My wife was in a raid about half an hour ago as the fireteam leader. A member of the team was griefing and uncooperative. Constantly meleeing her. She asked him to stop. He then threatened to DDOS her. A few minutes later he began questioning the team about their locations. He knew there was some from near our location. The team didn't respond. Another few minutes later and our internet went down. She just got off the phone with our IP provider. Our router is fried and a repair ticket has been issued.
A quick internet search of his name reveals hes been reported for ddos attacks in trials before with corresponding evidence. We can now backed up this other individuals claims.
I expect a quick response. Destiny will no longer be played in this house by anyone until this issue has been resolved. PM me for names.

If you believe a player has done something against the rules of the game, you can report their activity to Bungie using any of the methods listed in the article here: https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/12960

Here's a fun fact: Doing a DDoS attack across state lines is consider a federal offence.

Bearbeitet von Neo Revanuk: 11/24/2017 10:50:19 AMConstantly we are told to report players who we believe are cheating but we never hear about these people being punished or banned. Infact you do NOTHING! myself and the fireteam that I was a part of during Destiny 1 were DDOSed whilst playing trails, we submitted a complaint backed up with all of the evidence that we could gather along with messages left by other players who had suufered the same treatment at the hands of the three players, and there were many, and we NEVER got a reponse or an acknowledgment of our complaint. That was two years ago, the evidence was undeniable, and the same three people are now playing D2 and are still being complained about. What makes this worse is that my friend became so annoyed by this that he, in a moment of major frustration, named and shamed the three offending players and was perma banned from these forums, he vowed never to touch a bungie creation again and has stuck to his guns. So tell me Bungievison, In what bulls**t universe is calling out cheats so much worse than hacking people and ,in some cases, literaly destroying harware? Why do you allow offenders to cary on doing what they do? You allow this to go on and on and on but if there is ever an exploit where people find a way to ,as an example farm fifteen to twenty Eververse engrams a day, that would be patched within hours the game would be taken down or the rewards system would be disabled. You shame yourselves by ignoring what is happening.

DDoS attacks don't fry routers. The max a DDoS attack will do is cut your internet, but powering off and on the router should solve that, unless the attack is still going on, the scripts used for DDoS attack can be programmed to keep the attack going for xx minutes, but the longer the attack the easier it is to find its source.

That sucks, for sure. Kid will get banned, but mom and dad will just get him another account, but as already posted, a DDOS attack should not actually destroy your physical hardware, unless it was a potato or very poorly ventilated. Always let your electronics have some air flow - I know they're ugly and cables suck, but shutting everything inside a cabinet is a great way to die in a fire.

Bungie won't do anything to him. Best is to report him through your console and isp.
-
Report him. Move on.
