I mean in the min specs from the 10/12/17 TWAB it does state "AMD FX-4350 4.2 GHz" for minimum which is higher than the Phenom II just saying. I get people had no problem running it in the beta but even then the min spec was "AMD FX-4350 CPU". Still higher than the Phenom II in architecture. I get the argument of the 6 core version or there is Phenom II that is better than the AMD FX-4350 but if they aren't allowing it then they aren't allowing it. There's no way around it unless bungie allows SSE3 again instead of just SSSE3.

What does it mean that the specification is not low, but recommended for 60 FPS, there were no marks that with other "may" or "will" not work.

To the average person how can you tell the minimum specs from a make and model of a CPU? most ppl look at cores, GHz, and maybe Hyperthreading. Most people don't know much about CPUs. When I compared my specs to the "recommended minimum" they were generally on par. I had no idea about the SSSE3 thing. Even after looking into it I still don't know much. So instead of giving an example Bungie should have just said what they required out of a CPU instead of throwing one out there and letting us try and guess our way through it.

This exactly, I didn't even know what the hell SSSE3 was until the post bungie made about Phenom users not having that and not being able to play.

After the fiasco on the launch with the NMS, I thought many would consider. Many do not look at the supported instructions when buying a processor. This can be checked on the Internet, but for this you need to know what to check.

this was also a huge problem with (one of the many major) lies/omissions from Hello Games / Sean Murray regarding NMS. it gets really, really, really stupid. like to the point I didn't even want to go into detail ... but once I started: NMS' published minimum & recommended specs merely said things like "equivalent to Intel Processor X with number of cores Y and ghz Z" - they never once went into detail that equivalent computing power was simply not enough or "equivalent" (or that AMD had only very [b]VERY[/b] recently supported those (age old, I mean they're like 15 or 20 years old!) instructions, because in the past they felt no need to and most high-performance business software and AAA games never made it a requirement - and probably also because Intel wouldn't license it or AMD just didn't want to pay for it anyway, since they have their own equivalents for decades now and just didn't care) I actually do have some idea of current and historical cpu instruction extension sets, but I would never expect anyone else to, and I would expect a publisher, if they're posting specs, would be forthright and honest if those sort of thing were a requirement as well. or, y'know, just publish a tiny simple tool that checks a user's hardware - cpu, gpu, memory size+speed? and sez, "yes this will work" or "no, your 10 year old PhenomII doesn't have this one instruction (which we are probably only going to use on the menu screen anyway lol!)"

I agree with what you are saying because I knew nothing about the SSSE3 and SSE3 setting until I really had to look it up when all these AMD Phenom II users were having issues.

The problem I have with this, is that I hate how Bungie went about this, as do others. If you have a game, let's say dark souls 3, and you do not meet the requirements, you are still able to play it. It may run at like 10fps, but it will run. What Bungie seems to have done is just locked us out, even though we would be able to actually run the game.

ummm... no the minimal specs were published months in advance. it is no shock that the game required higher specs than the beta

The minimum specs were out before release, and Phenom users were able to play on release, according to the info Bungie gave; what they didn't tell us however, was that if your CPU does not have SSSE3 compatability, you are shit out of luck. They only mentioned this after release. Edit: Also Phenom users were able to play the beta well, so ofcourse they(me included) would think we could play the release version of the game.

To be precise after 3 or 4 hours with the start of the game. They did not know that there was a problem. Now they had to relieve themselves of responsibility. We have it called "backdating".
