I have to agree with most of this. I played D1 since Alpha. I quit for a year because life majorly got in the way of playing anything. I came back and played nonstop ever since. I didn't preorder D2 until about two weeks before release because I wasn't sure about it.
At first starting it, I loved parts of it. I loved the lead in for the story. I loved the new Hunter Arcstrider subclass... Note HUNTER subclass... I don't really care for Sentinel much (maybe I just haven't gotten into it). Dawnblade.... It's a half like half dislike. The funny/sad thing about all that... Is now after maxing all Hunter subclasses out... I still main Nightstalker. I just noticed it yesterday when running challenges on Arcstrider, I have MOST of my high light armor all set to Void mods only because I use it 99% of the time. It's a new game, you would think I would be loving the new subclass so much more than the last one to be added on D1.
I went from planning to take my time on Warlock and Titan story missions to rushing them in under a week because Banner restricted reward access until you got to Tower. Yet we were allowed to play the matches and get tokens for wins or losses BEFORE being maxed out so what was the point in restricting Saladin access?
Big pet peeve is this... D2 Beta had starter mission then instantly jumped to a strike, and my friends as well as myself were all wondering what happened between that mission and the strike to lead up to it. Surely it was all story related right?... Play official D2 and find out not only was it not tied to main story, NONE of the strikes in D2 are tied to the main story. They're all random side bits that have no effect on the overall storyline.
During Banner last week.... I spoke with a long time Destiny friend of mine, they have already stopped playing D2 for the most part but might come back for an expansion. What I told them was that once Banner was over.... I was actually thoroughly enjoying the idea of playing other games again without having to grind out missions nonstop to be able to access such and such event or a certain level by a certain time. I can have fun on other games more than I can on D2 now and it's only a month since release? How is that logical? Yes I have the expansion pass, yes I had preorder, and yet the game still has glitches in it for me on preordered bonus items. I've done main story on all 3 characters and yet for some reason I'm still unable to get the Kill Tracker Ghost from Shaxx.
I'll be back in December to see what expansion is like. Until then I'll mainly be on for weekly reward to max out Warlock and Titan light and then I'll be playing other things.

I played dark souls 3 for 3 months into the ground while even following guides. There no excuse for the lacking content
