I really like Leviathan Raid. Personally I think it's the best looking raid they've ever created, but do wish there was more team oriented fighting happening. I like that the Raids switch things up and aren't solely focused on slaying adds, but a little more of that would feel nice. One you know the underbelly you don't need to open any of the doors in the main room really and so there is very little challenging gunplay.
It is sad and a bit inexcusable to me that they spent the time working on D1's endgame economy and had finally gotten it to a pretty great place, and then literally abandoned all of it in D2, and they're acting like they need more data to figure out a solution. Bungie, you literally just spent 3 years doing that. Why abandon all of the progress just because new people are being introduced to the franchise?
I could get over random rolls on gear and weapons if the mod system that replaced that wasn't completely boring, bland, and not properly playing to the in-game world economy. Why the hell do we not have more armor mods like "reduced damage while using solar-based subclass." Or "increased power ammo capacity" all of those great perks from D1 that allow players to better tailor their armor sets to specific activities?
Why can't we get component pieces for dismantling blue mods or items infused with a blue mod, that we can then combine to create mod components (the same component you get from dismantling one legendary mod) so we can collect mod components and purchase specific mods from the arms dealer?...the specific mods could be randomized each week and change each week at reset...See where I'm going here?...you did stuff like this in D1 and the player base loved it?...why am I the guy telling you this stuff that should have obviously existed from day one of D2's life. Why don't we get a legendary mod component back when we dismantle an armor piece or weapon that has a legendary mod infused into it?
Bungie could have a very interesting and engaging mod system that creates a robust economy for your glimmer, shards, and mods/mod components, but instead we're all sitting here 99K glimmer, thousands of shards, and nothing to do with them. It makes NO sense.
I was so excited for the new mod system because it offered so many cool opportunities, but instead we got the most bland system imaginable, and a broken in-game economy where nothing really has any value. Especially once you've maxed out. If the mod system was more robust and dismantling unwanted items provided you components that you could save up to purchase rare perks that allow players to further customize their characters and loadouts i wouldn't feel so bummed about grinding strikes or public events at 305 power, even if I am just receiving 295 blues and legendaries, I could be using those to save up components and building up my loadouts, but instead there's nothing, no point at all...
I really hope they make some big additions in th DLC

Levianthan in the best looking raid ok,.... thats true, but is the most boring and tedious one. Is it a joke with raid name with one boss in the whole raid, with little fight and extensive boring tedious mechanics. I glady play any day VOG, Crota or Oryx raid just for fun but never Leviathan
-
Hey I understand. I think some encounters in Leviathan are better than others! Baths is pretty fun, Gauntlet is okay, dogs is definitely boring. Calus is fine, I probably prefer Calus to Oryx as a final encounter
-
You mean some encounters in Leviathan are less boring than others, and some are far more boring. I get it.

great read. And yes to add to your point about "instead we're all sitting here 99K glimmer, thousands of shards, and nothing to do with them. It makes NO sense", dont forget the absolutely USELESS token system that becomes obsolete within days of opening up the game from its package, let alone the long term grind.

TBH...I had no desire to raid but tried anyway. Then confirmed why I didn't want to raid in the first place. Was completely pointless. D1 raids literally had my heart pounding with excitement upon completion the first go. This raid was just silly. Not challenging or rewarding.
-
Personally, I still enjoyed Leviathan on my first completion, but I definitely don't feel the need to complete it each week, let alone 3x each week. So that certainly says something.

Filthy casuals prevail it seems. That’s what bungie wanted. Not us raiders raiding

I don't blame casual players. I just think Bungie is misjudging the importance of the mechanics in D1 that kept the player base active. I was a very casual gamer until I played D1. I'm 31, have a job, have a mortgage, etc... I consider myself a "casual gamer", but D1 turned me into a Guardian if you will. I didn't necessarily spend more time playing video games I just stopped playing all other games but Destiny! That's when you know you've got something right. After work, once my girl was asleep it's like should I play GTA, FIFA, Overwatch?....Nah...Destiny time baby. always came back to it. I always felt like I had something positive to strive for. For whatever reason they have failed to capture that aspect of the game, and that spoke to both casuals and hardcore players. So really their letting everyone down imo. I will always love Destiny, and D2 does look great, it is fun, they improved the experience of a number of things, but I really am a bit confused at their lackluster endgame/mod system. We'll see what happens inthe DLC's
