It depends on when the kills were. I think each kill qualifies as a point modified by the number of zones you control. If you control zero zones, your kills count for nothing. If you control 1 zone, each kill counts for 1. If you control 3 zones, each kill is 3 points. So it's not just how many points you capture, it's how long you hold them and how many kills you get while their held. Even a brief period where the other team has all 3 points can completely change the direction of the game, even if they don't get the most kills, or the most captures, that's only part of the game. It also means that if you have zero zones you should focus your team on taking one of them back, not engaging the enemy, because any kills you get during that time don't actually matter. ... In my own case I usually run capture maps either clockwise or counter clockwise depending on the enemy movement because the team fire paradigm means they seldom leave one person to guard capture point. Which means one person can easily run counter to the other team and capture an abandoned point while the other team is capturing another...The main trick is to make sure you always have as many points controlled as possible.

    Well ok thanks that makes sense. Although I’m pretty sure they never had all zones. If they did then it was no more than once briefly. It’s still a stupid system though making it that technical for a simple quickplay match. I actually remember thinking during the match how are we loosing we’re destroying them. Crucible is very broken atm anyway so I’m not really bothered either way. If they don’t fix it I can’t see myself bothering much longer. I can’t afford the blood pressure from the infuriating mida’s, sorry I meant matches. 😖

  • They get more kills while they had more zones than you. Not hard to figure out. Even if you took the zones more often, your team could have had fewer kills during the "crucial time" Which is why I tend to hold my Super back until I see we have more zones

  • The main trick to crucible is not caring. Play through your weekly crucible bounty. Then maybe two matches a day if you feel like it to keep your general ability up, then walk away because it's not worth the effort..

    It’s just so irritating how you get a few matches and it’s a good fight, and then suddenly the next match, you can’t even hurt anyone and they seem to kill you in half the time it normally takes. You can’t do anything, you get spawn killed non stop, connections are atrocious, hit registration is shocking and there’s no fun factor left to make up for it because they’ll melt you in your super quicker than a regular guardian! Wtf, seriously Bungie are you completely blind or just ignorant? I hardly play crucible now compared to Destiny 1. That was just as bad but at least felt fun most the time

  • There use to be a webpage I found somewhere that would let you put in your gamer tag and it would bring up your current crucible match and participants. It ould actually tell you right off hand if this was a match you were going to win or lose because the odds would be either 65 or 70 for your your team and 30 to 35% for the other team, or the other way around. I can't find the site anymore so Bungie probably threatened them with a lawsuit if they didn't stop. But yeah, matchmaking absolutely is built to pick winner and loser. They could matchmake a closer to a 55/45 margine but they usually don't. As to speed of being downed, it's worth remembering that team fire is the thing now so even if only one person is flagged in red as the person who killed you, in theory, 4 people could hit you with a high impact scout at the same time and instant down you as if you'd been hit by a sniper..the more people firing on you and all...

    But that’s the thing you could take on 3 people easy in Destiny 1, evade, take out one or two and jet, and still get away with a couple of health points. What have they done made it so if more than one player is shooting you they get a double damage multiplier?! I don’t understand how the difference can be so drastic. Team shooting was a thing in D1 but you never died in an instant because of it. The rule to every balanced game is that every action has a possible counter action, every perk has a counter perk, every play style has a counter attack. The only way to avoid a four man firing squad is to run away. That is not fun. Bungie either hire a new team or just give up because the general feedback I’ve been seeing the last week or so is not looking good for the companies future.
