Ok let me just start off with saying I wasn't thinking straight and was up at 4am playing when I made this decision. Anyway I was going after an exotic ship from eververse or really just anything cool (emotes, shaders, exotic sparrows, etc.) so I bought $20 worth of silver which is roughly 13 bright engrams (once again I was tired and wasn't thinking straight). Upon opening the 13 engrams I found what can only be described as disappointment. Not a single item I was after. About 6 of the drops were ghost shell which I didn't need since I had the kill tracker ghost. Two consisted of legendary ships (an okay one and a God ugly circular one) 3 legendary sparrows (didn't need because had an exotic). The last two consisted of an armor piece which didn't look very nice and a gift of bright dust. The shaders were cool I guess but most were duplicates and with the current system, I wouldn't use any anyway (one time use). I spent $20 for all stuff I didn't need or want. The moral of the story is don't give in to the bs micro transactions. The main point I wanted to bring up was the price and contents of bright engrams in general. First off $5 buys you 3 engrams (a fair deal in my opinion) until you realize that most of the possible drops of this engram consists of complete garbage (ghost shells, way too many sparrows that all look similar, ships that look similar, etc.) so your chances of getting something good are slim. I do not think that for any reason a single ghost shell or rare sparrow is enough of a reward for an entire engram. I feel that if bungie is going to make us pay real money for cosmetics, they can at least make us pick what we want (can be specific items or engrams based on category like a ship engram). Prices can vary on what you choose for balancing purposes but at least you know what you are getting for your money.
