How Destiny Changed My Life

Hello everyone, skynight2513 here with something that I want to share with all of you in this community. Well with all the trailers and articles being released for Destiny 2 all over the Internet, it has really hit me that Destiny, the game I have been playing for 3 years is ending and it has made me look at all the game has done for me and how it has substantially changed me as a person. For most of my life I have been that introverted nerd, not really socializing with my classmates, being quiet and reading books constantly, and just not really attempting to fit in well with anyone. Then Destiny came out and I quickly noticed that the game is really heavy on socializing with other people and I was discouraged at first about that. I felt like I was missing out on a bunch of amazing activities in the game because I was a little anti-social and of course I was angry because I just spend 60 dollars on this game! So I was trying to work out that problem one day at school when I noticed the kid sitting next to me was talking about Destiny and that caught my attention. So I shyly started talking to him about the game. It was interesting. I had no other real reason to be talking to this person, I was a Junior and he was a Freshman and he wasn't exactly the kind of person I would ever imagine talking to in any circumstance. But there we were talking about the game, exchanging psn usernames so that we could friend each other and little did I know at the time, but that really started off for me when I truly started playing Destiny the way it was build. Him and I started teaming up doing strikes, two-man Nightfalls, and a few hilarious attempts at me trying to play the Crucible until I threw my headset at the wall. Over time we started meeting new and interesting people on LFG, which forced me to exactly act like a human being. I had to talk to complete strangers. It was terrible! But eventually I grew more comfortable with that and got a lot better. About the time the Taken King came out, we had made a pretty impressive friend's list and we found a few people in a clan called, Firehawks, through a friend and we instantly grew to enjoy playing with them, until they asked us both if we wanted to join their clan and we jumped at the opportunity. Over time we began to bond more and more with them. We started learning their real names, where they live, and what they are like in the real world. We had made true friends. It has been three years since that game came into my life and I can't believe everything it has done for me. I actually want to talk to people now, I have gained real, awesome friends from that clan, and I plan to make more with them in Destiny 2! I am seriously thinking about hosting events on the100.io in Destiny 2, to try and even more friends and create even more spectacular memories in the Destiny universe. So with Destiny ending pretty soon in the next few weeks. I am pretty sad. Sad that the game that has done so much for me is about to effectively retire for Destiny 2. I know a lot of people like to complain about stuff that has gone on in Destiny (including me at times), this game will always be so much more to me than just some FPS-fantasy game. It will always be the catalyst that helped me grew as a person and will always have a place in my heart and I am thankful for everything it has done for me. Well that's enough emotions for one night. I need to get myself pumped up for Destiny 2! Time to start stockpiling soda and Pizza Rolls and start mentally preparing myself for a full-on gaming marathon of Destiny 2! I can't wait! If you liked my little post here, if you would be so kind as to upvote it for me. I would appreciate it. Good night/ Good morning to everyone of you, and I hope to see you all in Destiny 2. See ya!
