Yo I remembered this conversation after all this time. I stayed true to myself and still have not bought the game. Every once in a while I look at the forums and there seems to be a lot and I mean a lot of dissatisfaction with the game. Perhaps it’s not worth buying at all.
-
Same. I'll buy it if after a year it's gotten consistently solid reviews. I was a D1 Day 1 player; no regrets. I have no interest in being Day 1 for D2. Once the initial shine wears off, I believe the game will be recognized as brutally underwhelming.

Bearbeitet von kendallhollo2012: 8/20/2017 12:20:21 AMThat's not a bad idea at all. I might just wait a year or so to get it because by that time there will be enough content to enjoy for a while. Someone said that the old content will be dead that replied to you. And if that's the case, then bungie truly has not learned from their destiny 1 mistakes. Leaving content behind that you worked forever on is pointless. They should be able to make things all relevant, and buying it in a year should give me a strong advantage. Your suggestion was finally the answer I've been searching for because I've been at an impasse as to whether I want it or not. That's half the reason I made this post and I finally got what I was looking for.
-
Ok, how is me saying that content becomes dead turn out to be a Bungie issue? Tell me any game that you will just run through the same missions for years and would still be played once new content comes out? When the ROI came out, it was impossible to find VoG raids, that's nothing to do with Bungie mistakes, this is how life works. As for not being able to carry over progress, this would be unfair to a lot of people who would be starting fresh, and would also take up even more space, which would lower FPS even further, hence why no other game on console has done this, but oh well this is destiny so let's just moan about it anyway.
-
Why would you make a ton of content and then waste it after you spent all that time just for some dlc that contains way less content. Players will have to grind that new content over and over again for new things. If they are going to make you play the same stuff over again, then they should bring forward all content for the sake of variety. New players can easily be transitioned in. If there are amazing year one weapons then, it would be wise to keep moving them forward. I for one loved the year 1 destiny weapons. I wasn't the only one, when the dark below came out a lot of people used their fatebringer. It was 300 light and the max light was set at 331.
-
Thats the issue. The fatebringer couldnt be any more perfect so of course bungie would put something in place because the gun would be the only one being used, that is horrific design. So they added in a whole new wave of weapons each dlc so it was fresh. Because its the end of destiny 1, age of triumph is out so people can use whatever weapons they want, including the fatebringer. Thats not you buying content and then having them take it away from you, you can still use the weapons, just not at the current high level missions, for balancing and design reasons.
-
I liked the fast ttk in year 1 destiny so I disagree. The weapon designs got worse and worse.,the next raid handcannon word of crota was just okay. The next one in house of wolves was barely decent. The one in taken king was horrible. In fact, the majority of the taken king raid weapons were awful. That's not okay. Falloff damage was all they needed to balance the fatebringer and most weapons. Instead of leaving content behind they can make better dlc models. For example, one possible model would be to not increase light at all at least the first year of D2. Light level increases did nothing more than drop old content. The only places it gave advantages in was old raids and PvP events. But to be honest the PvP advantage is bs. There is no honor in killing someone at a clear disadvantage. With this type of model they can keep all playlists and disable dlc for those that don't have it. For events everyone can still participate even without the dlc. If they really want to increase light then they have to come up with models that's make sense. The mistakes they made in destiny 1 should at least be improved.
-
While that is a pretty good idea, it also ignores the fact that the playtime would be reduced by a lot as there would be nothing for people to do, as most people just like getting to the max level, this would just take away a big part of its mmo style, I see what you are trying to say tho.

To see if bungie has FINALLY learned from past mistakes

If by "just as much fun" you mean, play content that is dead and nobody plays anymore, yeah il agree with you. Just like every other game, shit gets discounted after being out for ages, but all you brain dead bungie haters will keep bitching non stop. Whatever dood

Bearbeitet von Parzival: 8/20/2017 12:52:35 AMYes, you're right. I do enjoy watered down content.
-
You know thats actually an interesting point. I payed about 200 dollars for Destiny and the DLCs ( no extra cosmetics, just games). And people at the end could pay like 60 for the whole thing ... hmm. Maybe i should wait until D3 launch and get D2 plus all DLC for 60 lol
-
Wont have to wait till d3...just wait till 2nd dlc or 3rd and get a drastically reduced price. Saw many posts where people joined midway thru d1 and still enjoyed their experience
-
It does make me question why I'm buying the game on release because none of my friends are switching to PC... hmm.

Bearbeitet von Parzival: 8/20/2017 12:48:06 AMBut if u have the money then get it...don't let people who hate on the game persuade u from getting it. Don't mistake what I'm saying as dislike as one other moron did. I enjoyed the game. But it doesn't change the fact that the price will go down and when you enjoy doing co op strikes and missions or just PvP, then the game will still be there and hopefully with some better changes, like going back to 6v6.
