Mark Noseworthy's response suggested HDR is likely to happen eventually via an update after launch. I'm pleasantly surprised.

Honestly, I'm more surprised that it isn't there at launch. But it's cool, so long as it is going to be here eventually, I'm happy. It obviously helps when Noseworthy is the one who says that he's a fan and wants it too...

If a developer had used it in other games but suddenly abandoned it, that would surprise me. I don't remember Bungie ever using it. I'm glad they are considering it, though. HDR utilization has been quite puzzling so far. Tomb Raider used surprisingly advanced and demanding settings, yet they did nothing with HDR, which isn't that demanding. They used 1800p and HBAO+ but passed on HDR, which isn't that computationally intensive. The PS4's versions of movie services like Netflix and Amazon Video also do NOT use HDR at all despite adding HDR to the PS4 and Pro. I have HDR 8 and HDR 10/ Vision compatibility, yet I have to use my TV's Netflix and Amazon Video application to use either for movie/ TV services. It's bizarre.

Same here....having to use my TV's apps for HDR content. Pretty frustrating with the odd handling of HDR in the market in general right now. And like you said, it's even more confusing in games....especially considering the low overhead that comes with it....
