I dont think that 3rd person games are a direct competitor. Anthem looks interesting, but like The Division it probably wont scratch the same itch that a game like Destiny scratches.
And i havent seen Warframe in 3 years, but i doubt it will take anyone away from Destiny. Also, is a Free2PlayGame.... so people who can afford real games will ignore it, as usual.

>Real games Wot.

Thats the way we look at F2P games....
-
Can't say I agree in the slightest, but okay.
-
Agree, imo warframe should be a AAA title and destiny should be the free to play game.
-
But its not. F2P games have a stigma... most are pay to win... so, people who dont want to get involved with all that stuff ignore those games. Ya know.... real gamers.
-
I'm gonna let u slide on the "real gamer" comment this one time. There's nothing pay to win in warframe. More like pay for easy convenience. Everything in the game is obtainable without spending a dime. I am living proof of that, a max MR player without a dime invested in the game.
-
Pay for easy convienience is Pay 2 win. While most games that offer this let you grind up to an even status, anything that gives you an advantage over other players who dont chose to pay, is Pay 2 win. I think we might have a different definition of P2W.
-
U have no advantage over me bc I choose not to pay that's my point. U are only choosing to get that frame or weapon earlier than I do. It will give u no advantage in completing any tasks over me. Therefore ur paying for convenience of not grinding not to "win"

Might be too late to reply but a lot of my friends have jumped to Warframe after all the salt D2 produced. Since your comment talks about OP frames and people having the option to pay to get them earlier, what incentive does that really give a player? My friends tell me that the PVP isn't good and the raids are sub-par in Warframe. So does that mean that warframe players grind for to brag about how it looks? Personally, I like grinding for lets say example, the Felwinter's Lie, so I can be strong in PVP in Destiny, or like grind for the GHORN, so that I can be relevant in Destiny Raids. I know that there are players who spend hours making their characters look good. However, for a player like me who could care less about looking better than the other player, is it worth the jump to warframe and begin a new grind?
-
I’m not a pvp player so I can’t comment on the pvp aspect and I will agree on the “raids” of warframe being underwhelming compared to destiny but once u get past that aspect, the customization that warframe offers is completely off the charts compared to destiny. The point of grinding for anything is to make yourself better in the game whether that is to complete end game content solo or to just have something to play. The content is def there to keep you busy for quite awhile if ur a new player. Once plains comes to console I’m sure it will also create even more content

The newer frames do t offer better skills? Why grind for them in the first place? Cosmetic only?
-
Bearbeitet von Beasel: 7/10/2017 6:05:25 PMGenerally most of the newer frames don't have better skills or require a lot of playtesting to figure out the optimal build to make them OP and even then they are just on par with the other frames avail. There are 36 frames between reg and prime I do believe everyone of them are decent and generally outshine the new ones on the beginning. The point of grinding for the new frames is to see if those skills suit ur play style and make u want to switch it up

Well i will take your word for this, as i only played the game for a few hours back when PS4 first launched. But that is the stigma that F2P games have amongst a lot of people. F2P didnt exist when i was a kid, so i basically see them as inferior games because their whole business model exists on the faith of microtransactions. And i see microtransactions as being bad for gaming. So i typically view F2P as bad games. Though that may not be true, i'd rather buy a game that has the grindiest be the best/have the best stuff. Not because i'm cheap.... but because i can outgrind a lot of people. Lol.
-
Trust me, if u played at launch and disliked it u should give it another try. It has made leaps and bounds compared to 4 yrs ago. I've been along for the whole ride of the PS4 life and it's really good now and the best part is it is a free to play game. I know hundreds of players that after they get into the meat of the game would have gladly paid full price of a AAA title and dlc to play warframe

Honestly I find the term "real gamers" pretty ridiculous in itself. You're coming across as a little bit elitist, but that might just be because text isn't always that simple to decipher.
-
Real grinders... thats probably what i should have said. Gamers are gamers. You're right... it did come off as elitist.
