The chip set issue on the 360 was an issue of M$ releasing the console quickly as opposed to ensuring a stable unit. Once they diagnosed the problem (insufficient solder on board) then the red ring practically disappeared. The PS3's problem was the hardware itself, not just a part or two with some minor oversight, but rather the entire bloody thing. It was not intuitive or designed to be efficient. Most games still required being downloaded off the disc in order to play, and if you shut the console down "incorrectly" (which even shutting it down the recommended way still registered as "incorrect" have the bloody time), then you were in for a fun time of watching that console go through a system's check (which could take anywhere from 45 mins to 3 hours), and if you were lucky you would only have 1 or 2 of your saved games be "corrupted" (i.e. worthless). Where I live we have harsh winters. Had a PS3 and was enjoying MGS4, going through it on my Big Boss run. Lost power. A few hours later power is back, turn on my console. Wait 2 hours to see that my file is corrupted. Sony's answer: [i]"Well, if you paid for Plus, you could have saved your game on our cloud service and this would not have happened."[/i] F*ck Sony.

I feel you my dude, but that's a completely different issue than what this post is tackling. But I do understand, I'm not gonna lie though, I'm getting a PS Pro. It's unfortunate that the dev cycle shafted those on the older consoles but holding grudges with Sony isn't gonna help the world
