So, there has been a lot of community issues with the current format of Trials of Osiris stemming from DDoS attacks or "paid for" carries and so on. So, I thought about retooling the current format of Trials or, at least, expanding on how Trials plays out for everyone.
So, how about this, once you go flawless on a particular toon, that character will be put into a new Trials of Osiris tier that is full of players that have been to the Lighthouse that week. We can call this second stage or tier of Trials something like Trials of Osiris - Horus Challenge. Hell, Bungie can come up with a different idea for the name. The original Trials of Osiris would be locked for that particular toon for the remainder of the week. Any character you have that hasn't been flawless will still play normal Trials, but those characters that have been flawless will unlock the second tier and you can't go back to the 1st tier until reset. The competition would be harder. This time you would go talk to a new NPC at the Lighthouse named Horus the Elder. Horus is a higher ranking member of the Disciple of Osiris.
There could be new gear and weapons associated with it or a chance to get rerollable gear and weapons with a new flawless card. A new flawless run in this second tier against better teams and opponents will unlock an exotic emblem. Each new win would earn you rank with Horus the Elder. Nine wins would rank you up. After a you reach rank 25 a new exotic class item quest would be earned. Once you've completed a multi-stage quest a new chest in Lighthouse will appear for you to pick up this exotic. The class items would have their own unique load in action like the faction exotic class items do.
I have some more ideas for it, but I will save this for now and maybe update it later. What do you guys think?
