There is a reason why Bungie put effort to implement SBMM.
Its because PvP player pool is decreasing.
If you are a good player in your area..you will like to play PvP because its fun for you.
If you are average players..you will hate PvP.
In real life...average is majority. Those above average are minority but since they have fun to play PvP...they will play PvP alot more than average skilled player.
They destroying those average players.
Since this is a game..just for fun..if it not fun for players ...why play?
Bungie is trying many ways to keep those majority Destiny players to play PvP.
They make more maps...more generous rewards..forcing them to play PvP by putting PvP in Quest Line.
All those effort does not work very well.
During the CBMM periods Bungie relied on fresh new player...but since this game is already mature...not many fresh player. They have to bring the current players to play PVP.
Thats why SBMM exist.
SBMM causing those above average players having hard time to find lobby.
They usually like to play and play often..now they can't have that "fun" game anymore.
They just screaming here.
The only solution is HANDICAP system.
If the high skilled want to play in average players pool...they have to use HANDICAP to balance the skill.
Its because PvP player pool is decreasing.
SBMM is a huge reason the base began decreasing at all, that and all the nerfing that began with Taken King. There's no need for handicaps. Players can improve the same way year 1 vets did- by taking losses and learning from them.
-
The nerfing started LONG before TTK. It started with Auto Rifles being butchered.
-
The serious nerfing didn't really start until TTK. Weapons and classes (save autos and certain fusions) were still really strong up until TTK release. Obviously 1.1.1 was the first bad patch, but even including that the game was in a good state overall remainder of year 1, with the major exception of final round. TTK nerfed everything. Literally just about everything. Grenades, class build bonuses, movement speed, rocket velocity, all year 1 perks, the list goes on. Taken King patch notes are basically a nerf novel.

Everyone have their own limit. You can go to piano lesson but if you don't have music talent ..you will never can play both hand. Majority people can't play piano.
-
Odd analogy, but from what I'm gathering is that you're saying most players will never be good at this games's PvP. I firmly disagree. Players who invest enough time and effort will always improve. Their skill will eventually be capped but that has nothing to do with SBMM. Playing music is much harder than Destiny PvP, at least at the general level.

Yeah, that's why the playerbase of other PvP games like CoD, Counterstrike or Battlefield are alive and healthy? Because they use SBMM? I tell you what: They don't. They either have CBMM or Ranked Playlists...both combined with Dedicated Servers. THAT'S why they're alive and well. Not because they have to rely on SBMM to keep those in PvP that aren't even good at it or don't even want to play it. PvP isn't meant for everyone. Why should it be forced to be for everyone? If I'm bad at Battlefield, I'm bad and that's it. There is no padding of my butt because I'm bad and I just want to have fun without getting destroyed. Destiny is one of a kind. It's literally the only AAA-game that has no Ranked Playlists or at least Dedicated Servers. It has an awful Netcode with 30FPS and a 10Hz clickrate...and all that combined with SBMM that heavily relies on a top notch connection to be fair. It's as awful as it can be. And yet it tries to force SBMM on everyone just because the thumbless want to play a mode that isn't made for them, even when the vast majority of players is against it for various legit reasons? Can you tell me why?

COD and other games has high TTK and respawn an its massive players at once. So the different between High and low skilled is not that big. In destiny PVP High skilled player can have high possibility can not be killed by low skilled. Even the low skilled in their super...the High skilled still can kill them.
-
Bearbeitet von TeddyBundy: 11/15/2016 10:36:34 PMThe skillgaps in CoD or BF are the same...stop making excuses and answer my question.

Bearbeitet von Muka Gatals: 11/15/2016 11:01:11 PMLike I said..COD TTK is faster so with the same skill gap, low skilled still can get kills. Not in Destiny. Primary weapons ttk take too long compare COD. Its like supremacy with shotgun plus mayhem. It make low skilled player can get kills. When you said "the thumbless want to play a mode that isn't made for them, even when the vast majority of players is against it" you are totally wrong. Those Thumbless are majority. They are not here in forum. Most PvP players that are here High skilled ones. And you are less than 1% destiny players. Less than 700 PvP players crying about SBMM in 2100000 PvP players. Those 20999300 are enjoying PvP with their Big screen TV that has huge lag.
-
Bearbeitet von TeddyBundy: 11/15/2016 11:06:18 PMThen fasten the TTK and remove SBMM. Like any other decent game does. Simple. P2P and SBMM does not work. I won't respond to the rest because I'm sick and tired of this topic.
-
Yes..you right It one way to decrease the problem..fasten the TTK. But Bungie still need to make those low skilled like to play PvP. if it not...you can see the Trial...TOO. No SBMM at TOO...you can see people screaming the lag. That's because Trial player pool is small. Almost no low skilled want to play it. Bungie does a good job to put Trial Bounties to make the casuals wiling to play. But after IB...most people are 400...no point to do that again. As you can see..those Thumbless are essential to make your PvP experience "Fun" You better respect them.
-
I respect no one in a PvP game other than myself. And if a game punishes me for being more dedicated than some "I don't care!"-casual, than something is clearly wrong. A casual should feel that there are better players out there...in every game. He should be afraid to enter the Cucible and he should try his best to compete...like I did when I started with this game. There was no mercy shit. There was no catering to my awful ingame behaviour. I simply didn't deserve to be padded. And if people would rather leave then actually trying to get good, they're the worst kind of PvP player right after cheaters. Those people don't deserve to have more fun than me, that's my honest opinion.

This reasoning is sound....watch out now as these forums tend to get more toxic with reason. The real high level player is what say .1% of destiny PvP. The average player who does not like to sweat and or care about getting crazy good to Play is benefitted bySBMM as the better you get in theory the better your opponents get....or just not do well but really what is "good" anyway. Any FPS game would fail if you could only play after having 2.5 KD and be MLG because mass appeal sells more.
