- Bad players CAN get better by playing bad players . It's get depends on the mind serif the bad player, if he's determined he can improve with the top teir if he's not then he can not improve against top tier players. So SBMM should stay so that both players can improve and rehabs fun. Also if the determined player wants a challenge he could go in to trials that's the best practice IMO
-Keeping it short, As a member of the "1%" (in-game) SBMM should stay most connections can handle Games like destiny but a laptop and a phone connected at the same time causes noticeable drop in connection quality. I personally never come in to contact with a "red bar warrior" and match quality is usually amazing ( XB1 East Coast)

you're not top 1% your a .94

I dont mean top 1% of players according to guardian.gg , i was referring to the group of people that have 1k+ hours played and experience. I can hold my ground against the best.

No, a bad player cannot improve when facing other bad players only. They're way too forgiving which results in sloppy habits. Once you play against good players, they'll destroy you and you won't even know why.

So you want to throw a kid in a poll and tell him to swim. (Assuming he has infinite lives similar to the game: Destiny). He would slowly the meta, power positions, set up(class), and ect. While dying to something he does not understand (the meta). The question is do you want new players to have a "fair" experience at the cost of a few red bars in your game?

Bearbeitet von Ness: 11/18/2016 5:37:22 AMYou make it sound like new players would get pub stomped every match when in reality, they won't. How do I know this? Because I used to play CoD Modern Warfare 2. Yes, there were games where the other team won by a landslide, but for the most part, it didn't seem like it was incredibly one sided every single game. I was also a terrible player in CoD with a 0.6 k/d, yet I never complained that I got stomped on (not that I ever did, not every player I went up against was a top 1% player). I simply played to have fun, and I didn't care so much about winning. If I wanted to improve, at least I wasn't having my hand held by playing against other 0.6 players. So take it from someone who sucks at CoD, removing SBMM to further prioritize connection quality won't kill off newer players.

As a CoD player too, CoD a faster TTK than destiny which allows for low skill players to have success. Destiny on the other hand is harder game in general. Also I'm just trying to say that the current system is fine. Lag comes with online games.

Go ahead and tell me how other games do it. Counterstrike, Battlefield, Call of Duty, Unteal Tournament, etc. What happens to new players? They get stomped...and actually try to improve or stay bad. If Dark Souls is too hard for you, you also won't get padded by the system to prevent you of getting frustrated. No, it keeps destroying you as long as you're improving or quitting. That's the challenge of the game...and it'll feel great once you beat it. Same goes for decent PvP games. They're not made for everyone. Only for those that are dedicated to it and actualy try to learn from their mistakes.

Call of Duty and csgo have SBMM and the main purpose of a game should be to have fun . If a new player wants to get better then they will no matter what. I am getting the feeling that you want to pub stomp in destiny and it sound fun at first but it will get boring. You will long for Iron Banner but with these new changes to IB you don't even have to win any more.

Bearbeitet von TeddyBundy: 11/14/2016 9:48:49 PMCoD has no SBMM, CS has ranked playlists. Both have Dedicated Servers too. CoD Black Ops 3 had SBMM for about a week and then they returned to normal matchmaking because the shitstorm was enormous. There is NO game that has SBMM without ranked playlists or Dedicated Servers (or both) besides Destiny. Stop acting like this is normal and needed. It's not. Destiny is one of a kind and that's NOT a good kind. Please, watch the video before you try to make a valid point again.
