The problem with your logic is you believed Bungie. Bungie did not nerf ammo for PVP. Oh... they claimed that's why, but believe me, the motivation was to continue to lengthen PVE encounters. No one I know would say Destiny is "hard", they'd say it's grindy or tedious, but not really that hard. So, Bungie thinks, "Lets up the difficulty... but how do we do that while still being lazy? Oh! Let's artificially increase difficulty, let's take away stuff!" So, in the end, we see Bungie's vision for Destiny with nerfs instead of buffs, less ammo instead of more, longer cooldowns to supers, no more ice breaker, nerfs to subclasses, nerfs to everything. This is going to sound like an innuendo but follow me for a second: Longer does not mean harder, it just means it's more tedious. Elemental primaries is a perfect example. This is a philosophical issue at its core, does the Destiny player base think Destiny is a hard game, or do they measure Destiny's "Difficulty" by the amount of time it takes to complete an activity? The ammo nerf is symptomatic of a more systemic issue: Bungie is lazy and greedy. They do not want to put the time, money, and creativity into making Destiny 1 better. True story.
