Warlocks have no evasive maneuvers and an awkward, floaty jump outside of Blink, which only one subclass has access to.
Their supers and melee attacks are really all they have going for them.
If you're going to nerf their melee, then what buff are you going to give them to properly make up for it?
That's how balance works.

Void walker has great grenades but Stormcaller really has none against even halfway decent players. Same w sunsinger.

On the flip side stormcallers have an amazing super for 6v6 and a great melee. The biggest asset is the range of course.

Storm Grenades have a notable delay before they go off and arcbolts were nerfed. Not my idea of "great".
