As Snipers are ruling PvP, I have a couple suggestions to reduce the sniper use and get a broader use of the other guns.
Idea #1:
Make snipers heavy. It would greatly reduce the amount of sniping in game (other than the Ice Breaker), but shouldn't affect PvE too much as it's pretty easy to get Ammo Synths.
Idea #2:
An exotic helmet for each class that prevents or greatly reduces crit damage, or greatly reduces the size of the head hit box for crit. It would have a trade off to reduce agility or to otherwise make you an easier target for non-crit shots. This would make a snipe a kill take two head or body shots, and because of that it would increase the popularity of high fire rate, lower impact snipers so they can get their second hit in. Having it be an exotic, it forces player to pick their defense (i.e., it will not be the choice for everyone), but enough players would use it to disrupt the sniper dominance a little.

2 AntwortenHere's what I've come up with. Taking you out of scope, they won't do. Plus, it'll kinda defeat the whole purpose. So that's out. Adding sway also not going to happen. Because no other weapons have it. Making a sniper heavy....... That's a little ridiculous. But, no. It won't happen. And shouldn't happen. The helmet perk...... Even with a helmet surviving a round to the head from a rifle.... Nah. From what I've gathered, I think the flinch just needs to not realign with the target. As it stands now, you flinch, then are redirected right back where you were aiming. Getting those annoying, and completely absurd head shots between bursts from an opponent. So, they should change it so the flinch takes you off target, and you have to MANUALLY reacquire your target. This basically already happens with every other weapon that's fired because we are constantly working against recoil as we shoot. Snipers don't have this problem, as it's a 1 shot kill. The sniper will either have to duck out and get a better position, or be EXTREMELY skilled and be able to stay scoped, center his aim and take a truly skilled shot. Snipers are supposed to be low profile, sneaky and silent tacticians anyhow. Not able to take pot shots to the face and still kill you.... Make the change I suggested, all the sniper problems will go away. And they will be used as sniper rifles are INTENDED to be used. Instead of this sniper/scout middle ground they currently rest in.

Both your ideas are not only unfathomabley stupid, but also would destroy variety of exotic use. Use a sniper its not as easy as you think

2 AntwortenSnipers are fine. Really they are. Stop running I without thinking of your map placement if you die to them. Also with the trend in titans I see a lot more shotguns than snipers these days. It tends to go bsck and fourth with the dominant class. Right now it's titan.
