So I was talking with a friend about how boring ToO has become for me. We were brainstorming and came up with some ideas to spice it up. A. Remember that one weekend in year one when the map was random every match? That was probably the most fun I've ever had in Crucible. I was thinking they could do this once a month. B. I hear a lot of complaints about and even Bungie temporarily removing maps due to map imbalances. Well, if every round, you flipped spawns, no one could blame their misfortunes on being forced to play the disadvantaged spawn the whole match. Worst case scenario, it wouldn't really hurt anyone to flip spawns, other than forcing you to have a good strat for either spawn. Everyone wins. C. Or they could combine A and B. D. Please give any other suggestions you might have. More maps? Different map every round? Larger maps? Smaller maps? Primaries only? No supers? Void subclasses only? The "grounded" modifier? E. Or do you think it's perfect the way it is, with no room for extra spice or modification? Chime in please. Edit 1: Good to see all the respectful comments. Not much negativity and kd shaming here which is refreshing to see on the competitive side of the forums. Thank you for all the great creative ideas. I'll soon make an edit with the most popular suggestions and then the best suggestions. But first, 2 ideas I was bouncing around. A. I have always hated that after reset, the lighthouse disappeared and to go back, you have to wait till the following week. I'm not talking about the chest here. Just actually being in the lighthouse. I feel like that should be permanent. B. Also, I feel like it should be a public social space, not restricted to fireteams. I'd like to see it function like the tower, yet restricted only to guardians who have completed a flawless card in that year. That way, teams can check each other out, you can meet other flawless players, network, make friends, etc. These 2 could work individually, but they'd make the most sense if both were implemented.

  • What if they had it where each round had random modifiers one weekend? Like you jump in and oh it's arc burn, or brawler, or exposure, or trickle, or specialist. But it doesn't tell you until it's too late to change your loadout without losing energy or ammo. They could throw in more mods such as: Every Bullet Counts: All reload stats get -50, making reloads extremely slow. Run and Gun: All weapons can be hip fired while sprinting Betrayer: Team fire is enabled Trustfall: All Guardians are reskinned to look identical, and Guardian tags are disabled. The Hunter: When Last Guardian Standing, you gain tags on all enemy units. Brotherhood: You cannot kill an undamaged opponent. (AKA every kill must be assisted) Straight Shot: All flinch is removed Prisoner of War: Hold X within normal revive range to grab an enemy orb and move it to a different location. While dragging, move at a heavily reduced speed and lose ability to double jump, or use abilities or weaponry. Slide Jets: Slides are extremely fast and cover huge distance. Moon Rocks: Gravity is decreased greatly, lowering fall speed, lowering movement speed, increasing jump height and altering the physics of arc throw objects. Frenzy: All Guardians have one quarter normal health and deal 100% more damage. Tap In: All revives are instantly ready. Med Kit: Reviving an ally takes only 1 second. Team Connection: Your fireteam shares health. (X) Favor: Grants a +2 to all stats to X, which could be a faction, class, element, or race. From the Hip: ADS is disabled Black Market: Xur is on the map somewhere, and has a control point style zone around him. Successfully capturing that point causes him to grant your team heavy ammo. Heavy Surprise: Heavy round occurs on a random round. Armageddon: No revives Find your Friend: 1 team member starts out dead in the opponents spawn each round Might of Desperation: Once per life, as the first person on each team hits critical, they gain a flame shield strength overshield and an agility boost. Taking them with me: All postmortem damage is multiplied by 3.
