>Good players like a challenge.
>Unless it's too much of a challenge; then they prefer a three-page whinge.

> Good players like a challenge > Unless it involves being unable to play with my friends then the game becomes a competition. With no rewards.... and no incentive... and lag... and no fun. If you have an issue with skilled players. Try becoming one?
-
You do realize anyone can say that if your friends have a problem with not being able to play with you then they should become better players as well right?
-
Completely different points being made. This guy hates skilled players seemingly My friends don't. They're just being denied playing with me by a messed up matchmaking
-
It was already a competition. Take your own advice.
-
You're... Telling me... To git gud? Well. That's a first.
-
That's your advice to anyone whinging about how they're always matched with people better than them and it's no fun, no?
-
After all. Destiny has always been a social game. I don't care for stats. I don't care for having the biggest E-peen. The ONLY reason to play was enjoy it with friends. That option no longer exists.
-
If your friends have an issue with skilled players, they should try becoming one.
-
They do. Asking them to play 6 players with 2+ Kds every game when they struggle to get even isn't fair. Nor is it fun. The lag is also exponentially increased. Please continue to try and make your case. I promise you you won't. Life is easy for you right now. So you defend the current state of the game. Despite 95% of people complaining.
-
So we're in agreement on this: it's not that your friends can't play with you; they just don't want to because people like you ruin the game for them.
-
Bungies matchmaking system ruins the game for them. Pinning that on me is blind.
-
Well, no, because they can still choose not to play with you. If it went off the average or lowest skill in the fireteam, you could just team up with any random and smurf it up all night, and everyone who didn't want to be on the receiving end would have no choice in the matter.
-
You're saying it's fine that they can't play with me? You're ACTUALLY saying "well they'll just have to choose to not play with friends in this uncompetitive, unrewarding and dull when played alone game" Yeah. You're blind. Clueless even.
-
They can choose to or not. What wouldn't be fair would be forcing six other people to play against you instead of opponents, such as your friends, that they'd be fairly matched with. You seem to have real cognitive dissonance here: you're saying that playing against opponents that utterly outclass them is awful when it happens to your friends, but it's necessary for it to happen to other people in order that it not happen to your friends. I'm not saying that's blatant hypocrisy, just that you haven't thought the situation through.
-
You seem to think you're an expert on this. Yet you don't have to put up with it, you have no idea how this is working in reality. Regardless of your self believed importance and expertise on this matter. You do not have any experience dealing with not being able to play with friends because of it. You clearly seem to want to not notice that.
-
Nothing's preventing your friends from playing: they just choose not to play with people like you, because when you're there, the experience is not fun. That's their choice. Your advice to people who don't like getting beaten is to improve; as you've yet to explain why "you and people you like" is a group that should get special treatment over everyone else in the entire world, I submit that your friends should heed it.
-
How is it in any way acceptable or productive to promote restricting friendships in a game? In a non-competitive, laggy, unbalanced game? With no rewards for playing SBMM My friends shouldn't need to improve just to play with me in crucible. In a competition? Of course. In a ranked playlist per say? Sure. In trials/IB. Maybe at a push. In crucible? Hell no. You suggesting that is born out of pure stubbornness, idiocy or salt. I can't tell which. Maybe all of them.
-
So you and your friends shouldn't, but everyone else should. Got it.
-
You're point is completely different. Why should being bad or good stop you playing with friends? That's my point. You seem to think that it's not only fair but that it should be outright worked that way. You like playing with your friends? You have any?
-
It doesn't. You still can. They still can. Nothing is preventing them. It's not really about that: it's about you not being able to piggyback off your friends' lower rankings and smurf it up. You've yet to explain how you being able to smurf is a good thing for anybody but you and the people you're carrying.
-
Except for the fact they get CREAMED every single time they play with me. This whole "smurfing" thing is a bloody myth. You seem to think every top player just wants to stomp idiots all day. I don't, I never did and I never will. Stats are stupid, mean naff all. I also like to better myself and won't do that playing idiots. (Hence I have played A LOT of sweats and do trials carries endlessly). However. Gone are the days of playing with my friends, enjoying myself and whatever. I have maybe 5 times ran in a very strong team of 6. Why? Because it bores the shit out of me. I'm far from alone on that. You seem to think top players deserve to only play top players. That top players deserve horrible games, where they can't "play" the game, they have to put the same effort they would into a tournament EVERY SINGLE MATCH. You seem to think top players care for stats... you're thinking of stat whores. I couldn't give a shit if I go 10-10 or 30/3. If I have a laugh with my buddies doing it is completely irrelevant what score I get. You aren't understanding that. You're so blind it's unbelievable. You're so biased it's silly. You got creamed by a few good players, now having an easier ride. So... fu** everyone else right? You're yet to explain how I "still can" play with my friends, when they have an utterly miserable time when they join up with me? Explain that. Explain how that's a) sociable, b) fair or c) what we want in a game and why they bought it in the first place. But f**k em, right? Because obviously I just want to run into idiots and bump my stats.... reallllllllllllly? You keep dodging that point. A very very valid point and a widespread problem in this game. You're literally avoiding my point then chucking the EXACT same point at me... over, and over, and over. I was discussing something the other day that would be a good idea. Matching EACH individual with a another of the same skill. Then it's a mix of very good and not so great. I would take that all day over what we currently get. But wait... that would mean you running into good players who are just "smurfing" you? So you don't want that right? I get a very strong feeling this is less to do with me protecting my stats.... and more you protecting yours.
-
The cognitive dissonance is huge in you. You don't want that happening to you; for that to not happen to you it necessarily has to happen to other people instead, so by obvious consequence you want that to happen to other people so that it doesn't happen to you. Every time you whine about how awful it is, you're just telling people how awful you are.
-
Let me put it this way. Before December I don't remember ANYBODY asking for all of crucible to have SBMM. No one complained about it. Sure people would inevitable run into a stacked team of 6, but EVERYBODY did and everybody had the same fair chance of doing so. But currently what is going on, and what you're supporting is that good players should suffer endless top top games, in order to spare weaker players. How is that fair or encouraging improvement? Furthermore you claim that I want it to be flipped because if I'm not running into top players all the time someone has to be. Yes, everyone would have a fair chance of an easy game or a tough game. Like it used to be? Like when no one complained about it and when noone asked for SBMM? Yes. You're suggesting I'm saying weak players should have endless games v top players. That's not only inaccurate it's also ridiculous. It never used to happen and it still wouldn't. You'd have to implement a reverse sbmm matchmaking system to do that Which isnt going to happen. It's also not what in asking for. It's also not what anyone is asking for
-
I've explained countless times how that isn't anyone's aim. Yet you continue to go round in circles. You've even used the term cognitive dissonance about three times now? Getting nowhere. Can't move forward with someone relying on one argument, refusing to move from it, discuss it or even be respectful.
-
How awful I am? I mean I'm a lot better player than yourself so that's a silly thing to say.
