First off, I am going to explain myself . I mostly play Destiny due to its game mode, Trials of Osiris, as it it the most enjoyable aspect of the game in my opinion. I am a above-average player with a kd of about 1.9 and a 50 true skill, with a 1900 Elo rating. I have over 1000 games played in trials, and my stats are steadily rising through playing with better people and becoming a better player all around. (I started off as an awful pvp player who was carried through their first trials on widows court way back in year 1) So anyways, on to my point of this poll. I believe that the game mode is fair and balanced for the most part, as I feel snipers and shotguns are where they should be (fusion rifles could be a bit better in pvp, especially trials) Snipers can be shutdown pretty easily with teamwork and smart revives,(pushing and such) and shotgunners can also be shut down by good map control and keeping distance, or simply out-sniping the snipers and out-shotgunning the shotgunners. One problem which I see in trials is the Firebolt Grenades, which can render a person basically useless for an extended period of time. I'm going to try to make this as simple as possible, as balancing a game while having different subclasses to add variety is very difficult. The Sunsinger Warlock is already a strong subclass, as it has radiance, an extended Melee range which can give an over-shield and burns the opponent. It also has the grenades, which can hit 3 opponents at once and slowly burn them to "absolute" so if they take any damage, they'll most likely die. Some may complain the the Sunsinger needs these grenades, due to radiance being a bad super, as it can be one shot by a high impact sniper or shotgun-melee'd. Well, if it is used correctly with perfect timing, it can change the round from a loss to a win. Besides, now that the Titan sun breaker has been nerfed, which I am happy about, all extended supers can be one-shot to the head with a high-impact sniper, or shotgunned out of the super. As you can see, radiance is pretty balanced with the other supers of other classes, while serving the purpose which it was made for. Now, on to the melee. The warlock has a very powerful and ranged melee, which can beat out nearly any other guardian in a melee-only situation. Even if the warlock loses the battle, as it may not have the first hit, the warlock can still have a chance to kill the opponent through burn. In my opinion, to make the warlock a bit more fair, Bungie should do something about the dreadful Firebolt grenades. I explained these grenades a bit above, as they can make an entire team absolute. The Sunsinger Warlock has a below-average super (although I believe it is very average, if not above average) and they have an above average melee. So why not balance it out with the other classes by giving it an average grenade? I personally believe that the Firebolt is much better than the arc-bolt grenade was in its prime, before nerf. And now it is immensely better in every way. Especially in trials. There is no grenade that is nearly as good as Firebolt grenades. Maybe tripmines, if placed perfectly, and lightning grenades, if place perfectly. But these two grenades do not have any type of burn, which balances them out with the rest. So, what do I suggest Bungie do about this to make it more balanced? There are three things that I believe bungie could do to balance this out. 1) Reduce the range of the grenade, so that it is much harder to tag 3 people at once, and it takes more precision to tag a single person, OR 2) Reduce base damage so that the burn will still do normal damage, but will not make you absolute, OR 3) Reduce/eliminate burn so that does not make you absolute, and does not make a person on low health for an extended period. So, this is my opinion on what could be done to balance out trials a bit more. Do I think bungie will make this change due to what is stated? No. Do I really care? No, as I love the game mode already. I'm just stating what would potentially make it better, as these forums are filled with people voicing their opinions already. Plus, there is a noticeable advantage that the other team has when all 3 are sunsingers. Also, the poll is to let me know what you guys think is best about what could be done to the Firebolt grenades, as I have voiced my opinion, and I would like to hear yours. EDIT: The main reason to why I made this post is because I have played multiple games against 3 people who have the same subclass. I've played all strikers, all hammers, all blades, and all goldenguns. In my opinion, the most difficult to deal with is when dealing with 3 sunsingers, and what I believe the main reason to this, is the grenades, as they are an annoyance pretty much every round. Also, when one or more of the opponents are using voidfangs, the grenades are spammed more than ever.
