I personally don't feel like it is, no objectives may promote camping. I won't be surprised to see people camping their own spawn with snipers and only occasionally venturing forward for special ammo.
What are your opinions? Would it have been better off still being control? Or another game mode?
EDIT Some very good points being made in favour of clash, obviously the blueberries having no clue of holding objectives in control was a major drag for everyone who knew to hold flags. Kills only should (you'd expect) be easy enough for those random teammates.
EDIT 2 A lot of guardians happy for the change, which I totally agree on, many happy that they won't have to rely on blueberries to play objectives too, again I agree.
As we all know, the standard of players in the banner compared to regular crucible (barring daily modes) drops slightly, do you feel it is easier to carry a team to victory despite only a few going positive K/DRs?
EDIT 3 Nice to see so many of you with constructive comments and reasoning to your choices, only a few toxic comments, who, with their stats, will not be enjoying the banner regardless of game type.
I'm definitely looking forward to challenging some of you guardians during the event and maybe even seeing you owning as the blueberries on my team too.
Most of all, I hope the banner blesses you all with good RNG (yes even the toxic commenters), we all know how bad it can be.
EDIT IN PLAY
Well as we all know banner has arrived. And whilst I'm enjoying the change. Playing alone provides new challenges other than the mode itself. I've had to almost literally carry teams to a win on a few occasions and it's definitely not as fun (for me) as it used to be. If any of you are finding difficulty getting a group together for PS4 send me a pm and we could run together. My stats are available (PS not much history as was a new account)

Most people played clash during IB anyhow. People capping was a joke

1 AntwortenIts nice because people actually know how to play clash.

Bearbeitet von DarthBrando: 11/13/2015 2:15:26 PMGo on IB as lone wolf and get random team; End up vs flawless trials fire team running 310-320 light level full gear load outs ---->= mercy triggers, you lose, matches break up, next game you join same exact bunk happens Good luck guardians (Although the other IB adjustments are quite nice---> more rank per win, packages from rank 3-5, more gear + ghosts& artifacts)

Bearbeitet von Hagalaz-27: 11/13/2015 2:13:59 PMI'm a solo player (still looking for a clan that doesn't wait until the crack of midnight to start doing things together, but that's a different story), and to be honest, Control is an easier game to play when you don't have comms with other players, because the objectives are pretty simple: control the zones (except Zone A on Blind Watch. I will cut a bitch trying to capture that zone...). Clash... well, while "run around and shoot all the things" sounds easy, it definitely becomes a chaotic hairball of activity once people start dying and respawning in random locations, instead of respawning in near a cluster of your teammates. It's easier to be cut off and become the reason the other side's score is so high. At any rate, I'll look at the loot table before investing any time competing this cycle. I already have the pulse rifle and sidearm, and the Year Two hand cannon is pretty anemic, compared to Timur's Lash. None of the other weapons really interest me.

I prefer control over Clash but we'll see how it goes. Must be some new bounties too so that could be interesting.

1 Antwortenlast ib i got ib boots that increases my movement speed after capping a point, im so glad that i infused the crap out of them in preperation for this ib ..............
-
Yes. I like control but it's just nice to change it up a bit. I think the best thing would be random. Swapping between them both all the time. Can get a little dull when you're grinding for 4 hours straight. :)

Inferno clash iron banner will be the real challenge

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von TheDevilsRainbow: 11/13/2015 1:24:28 PMI like control but for Iron Banner I think clash will be good because at least you won't get put into a team of people that don't actually try capture zones, and honestly if I don't have a bounty that doesn't require catching zones I will spend most my time getting my other bountys done so I won't go to control zones much, which is bad I know lol

Personally I think they should have shifted it over to Rift. Or used the "Classic 6v6" playlist that rotates between Clash and Control. However, as an experiment I am willing to approach it in a positive manner as a Clash event. Most of the time I find that Clash is played in a fairly aggressive manner - I doubt that this will change. At least the maps are small and shotguns still challenge (this is 6s after all) On the subject of map size, remember that the current Control playlist now contains the big maps, I wouldn't like to play IB on those. Too many sweaties round the outside with sniper rifles, 0 people capturing flags... could be hell. Overall I welcome the experiment. Only the players can ruin it.

They should have started it with clash. Considering its the most basic pvp it would have been best to figure out what needs balance. They seem to be realizing that now
-
F yes! Less chaotic, less Sunbreakers crouching by B cap point with shotguns.
-
Iron banner should be a King of the Hill mode where you have to hold the iron banner up for your team.
-
Ultimate Last Word Domination.. 'Nuff said.

Titanssssssssss

Yes... No explanation is necessary...
-
You know what would be really good? Mayhem iron banner
-
i can see why but i do prefer control, this will promote snipers and camping around the map, at least with control their were pinch points. ill skip it next week, im washing my hair haha

Bearbeitet von DaJoc: 11/13/2015 1:46:08 PMI had a whole game with 2-3 zones. I also lost.

Why not just rotate each month between all PvP modes? I like control but doing the same thing gets old. I'm not a clash fan but I welcome the change.
-
Control sucks and clash is beast so I like clash better
-
No one wanted to capture the zones. We all just were there to kill the man's so yes this will work great
-
I think it's so less kills are from supers as people won't be as huddled together
-
I'll miss capping zones, but I think clash is more balanced because it will allow for more switching of spawns, and it means that one team can't just hold down the same 2 zones the whole game and win. It will make Pantheon, and Shores of time more balanced

I don't really care, but I still prefer Control. I usually avoid team deathmatch style game modes in most games because it encourages camping more than objective based game modes.
