Or get uverse so you're not sharing your bandwidth with the whole neighborhood.

All internet services that come from plant share bandwidth with other customers. Easy analogy: you can only fit so many vehicles in a tunnel before traffic slows!
-
Uverse guarantees bandwidth. Your bandwidth will not drop based on how many other people are online in your area. If you pay for 24 mbps, that's what you get.
-
Your replies sound more like you're a direct sales employee for Uverse rather than trying to share facts.

Well the fact is AT&T guarantees your bandwidth so you're not going to have a dip in your performance during peak hours. Dedicated bandwidth allotment per customer is the way to go if you want to get the speeds you're paying for. I'm not a sales agent I'm a technician. All I'm saying is go with a company (any company) that will provide you with a guaranteed speed.
-
I have At&T..it sucks! Its my only option living in a rural area...
-
No disrespect intended; AT&T may "guarantee" their speeds, but seldom have I tested an AT&T modem's speed and achieved said guaranteed speed. I have a few buddies in an office nearby who have installed Uverse brand new and still have not achieved the "guaranteed" speed, and it's not even during peak hours. I honestly can't even tell you the last time I heard anybody say they were getting the speeds they paid for. Either way, cable internet is the way to go. It's both cheaper and faster. For what you pay for DSL, you would have to pay cable hundreds for if you paid by the Mbps.
-
Those buddies must have had crappy installations or are on crappy plant. All I know is our local cable provider is hot garbage compared to AT&T, especially in areas that have fiber to the house.

More like pooverse
-
Whatever man I always have a green bar.
-
I'm constantly red they have sent people out multiple times all they tell me is that I'm getting interference from bad electricity whatever the hell that means
-
You are getting noob techs. I could fix it for you but I'm about 10000% sure you don't live in my city.
-
-
Nope sry.
