So I really like the idea of including secret missions into destiny in order to unlock cool gear however I'm not a fan of the special daily missions, mainly because I simply cannot play every day. My job requires me to go offshore onto oil rigs fairly frequently to perform inspections, this means I have periods where I have no access to my xbox. Previously, apart from the usual weekly loot, the only thing I missed out on whilst offshore was xur, I taught my girlfriend how to buy stuff from xur specifically to mitigate this problem in-case he sold something I needed.
However these secret daily missions are really frustrating for me as I am loosing out on cool content in the game with no real way of ever getting it again. You say in your weekly update that the first firewall mission will come back in time but exactly when?
Destiny is literally the only game I have played for the last year, I have invested so much time into this game (4000+ grimoire) and I hate feeling like having a job handicaps me in the game.
I'm sure I'm not the only one with this concern.
My suggestion would be to allow these secret daily missions to be repayable through the regular menu's. Limit the exclusive loot to once per character, this would mean only people playing catch up would benefit from this.
Anyone who agrees please bump so that bungie may see this.
Thank you.
[EDIT] A suggestion from one of the guys below was to introduce these special missions as quests - to me this seems like a very simple and effective solution. The quests can be timelocked by bungie as the missions currently are, however this would allow people to complete them in there own time.
[EDIT] Taking from others ideas I reckon introducing it as a quest line 1 week or so later would keep everyone happy. All the "if you can't make it onto destiny every day then you don't deserve it" people would have the prestige in owning it first and the "casuals" would know for certain they will be able to complete the missions to in the future.

it should at least go into abandoned quests

The time based ones are a bit much IMO. It doesn't make sense to have something for one specific day that you have to do or miss out on. I get the reasoning since it's how bungie makes sure people want to log back in but for some people it's just annoying.

2 AntwortenI think it's really cool that these secret missions happen only once in awhile. It allows them to be special and exciting when they do come around.

3 AntwortenYou taught your girlfriend to buy from Xur.... You Sir are a genius!

TLDR: why is "patience" a virtue? Why can't "hurry the -blam!- up" be a virtue?

I have a job and a family as well and I agree to an extent that these 24 hour special missions are a bit unfair to those that do not have as much free time as some of the more hardcore players. However, one of the things that Year 1 players bitched about the most was the lack of PVE special events. So Bungie decided to rectify this by adding some more special events in to the game.Could they have implemented them a little better, I think so. Maybe instead of a daily exclusive activity it could be attached to a quest that you could complete in your own time. It would lose some of the excitement, like when everyone was racing to get online to try to get the Black Spindle, but would be more fair to all players.
-
I'd say none of the above, but to change it Make the dailies not set to specific days. The black spindle mission should not be subjected to Wednesdays

I'm in a similar situation to you. I feel that they will open up the missions/quests further down the track but for now, we're shit out of luck. I'm okay with it as long as not finishing that content doesn't lock me out of stuff (LFG and the such).

We have a job too.

1 AntwortenI think a easy solution is not some catch up syetem or whatever, It is to make these "secert missions\rewards" available in regular heroic mission that can be opened anytime instead of just in the daily heroic.
-
Sure, Bungie is going to cater to just you instead what they want to do to benefit their sales.
-
They should have quest lines to unlock a special version of the heroic mission with a specific modifier to get the loot so people can play at their own pace.
-
While I don't have many time constraint issues, other players do. That being said, perhaps this thread could have some real use in the feedback forum. I'm just suggesting a place where the appropriate dev's will see it.

Same here. If you MUST be online everyday to get good stuff, then it sounds too much like a job and I have one already (it was in the same package with my family and the rest of my busy life LOL).
-
I'm with you on this one
-
The main thing I got out of that was that he taught his girl how to go shopping in the tower when Xur was around. That's awesome.

5 AntwortenNo one can tell me they can't squeeze 30 min of destiny out any day they need to unless you travel for work
-
I believe the reason people are getting butt hurt about introducing another means to get these types of quests is because they feel "special" that they got it and wouldn't feel the same if there was an easier way to get it. Not trying to start any fights but seriously, grow a pair. I agree, there should be some other way to get these quests for the people who have no way of being able to get it due to a job that requires to go elsewhere with no internet.

I was thinking the same thing. Work running trains for long hours. By the time i get home its time to go to bed and get right back up for work. Have a few days to do things but by then im screwed. Thats how i messed up with the cult ghost mission. Get a vita if you are on ps4 i think you can play away from home. Thats if you have wifi there.

5 AntwortenIf one of your friends has completed the first firewall mission for the sleeper, they can take you back into the mission. If you've found all 4 relics, you'll get the transceiver
-
I've been able to do every special daily-quest but some people just don't have the time, introducing a system which allows them to catch up (the missions would be a bit harder than the ones we get as Dailies ) would be great for them. Cheers!
-
Agreed I got too drunk to play by the time i found out about the sleeper stimulant mission and missed out

I agree with the 'making it a quest' suggestion. I too missed out on the daily this week. Hopeing it comes back around next week latest!

Couldn't agree with you more mate, well said.
