Your first point - on hunters, these are the only class who can activate there super and not get a single kill. As a Titan or warlock, besides radiance and the bubble, if you activate your super and die before it finishes you are not losing your super power however with hunters if you die when you are 90% through the animation you will not have any super power after. This is a fair trade off, you can get more kills on average but you also risk losing all your super and not getting a chance to even kill. - about one winner, any competition grants one player/team a "win" vs others. Ties don't happen in championship games or any other game that doesn't have a season. Asking to have a tie for someone who did "just" as good is basically like having two super bowl / Stanley cup / etc etc winners and that doesn't nor should it happen. I'm sorry but if I got more kills/points/etc I am a the winner and you came in second, your basically making it so that person who is in the lead will quit trying to win as it won't matter if they are first or second. You suggest having the top 50% earn the reward and mention a fix later on point two that I will address later. - crucible and trials, you compare trials to crucible and it would seem like this is a fair comparison however I see a flaw with this. Crucible is handled by the tower to hone guardian skills, this makes sense as the darkness in lore at least can kill your guardian and steal the light from your ghost leaving you dead and not coming back this time. Trials is put on by a separate cult that we have no idea what the intention behind this format is. Maybe trials is trying to pit guardians against each other to exploit later for personal agendas, pitting loyal guardians to the tower vs renegade guardians? My point is that trials and crucible are only related by being together in the crucible sub screen from orbit, to compare the reasoning behind these two is impossible as nobody knows the reason for trials to exist... Yet. Your second point - not allowing new players to join an existing match, this seems like a good idea on paper and anyone who works with an engineer will tell you just because it works on paper doesn't mean it will work in reality. This ties in with your earlier fix of having the top 50% win, 3 people would win, now when you have one player leave now only the top two will win... One more drops its the same yet if one more leaves only the top player will still win. You mentioned earlier that if you did just as good you should get a win too, now these two players going head to head for #1 and we are back to square one. Someone who would of been a "winner" may not stay after two people leave as they wouldn't win, now your down to just the top player winning again. Another problem with this is what fun is it to only shoot 2-3 others players the whole time and not get anyone new in? Are there even maps small enough to accommodate just 2-4 players or would it be so sparse it wouldn't even be fun? If me an one other person are kicking so much ass nobody could catch us and one person drops out its left with just us two winning, now anyone who was playing for the win will drop out let's say that is the other three players, now your stick fighting a 1v1. Those are just my thoughts on your thoughts though so I would love to hear what you think also. It's always better to have multiple eyes look at a possible solution from opposing views. Edit: excuse the typos and bad grammar I'm on my phone while driving and can't be bothered with making sure it's 100% perfect.

  • Woah, dude. Please don't do that while you drive. Anyway, I guess the canon/lore can have some weight. I never really thought about that. However, I still think that. I think I know what it's for, though! To a point, at least. When you reach The Lighthouse, you earn the Eye of Osiris. I think it means he's noticed you. As for the quitting problem, let me say this. While what you said can certainly come true, it's never happened to me, and I've played about 200 games of Rumble. The lowest it's gotten for me is 3 players remaining, and that's only happened once that I can remember. So, for how infrequently this occurs, I think the fix should be implemented.

Your right he did notice you, a renegade banished guardian noticed you... At least for the known lore he is a banished renegade. What point did he notice you for though, your fighting prowess, your disregard for fellow guardians, your tenacity, your willingness to do something the tower doesn't approve of? You say you have only gotten down to 3 players before a few times, how many of those times could it of been possible that you actually had 4+ players quit but because the way it is now spots were filled almost instantly for a few spots without you noticing? It doesn't happen much now, from what you say, but it may compound the problem by implementing this. You start with six players two really good players, one mediocre, two bad players and one who quits right away now those bad players decide they don't want to be fodder for the good players so they leave because they know they can get in a fresh match then the mediocre player is simply fodder and without any new blood he may not get another kill so he does what the bad players did. I know I list only one example this time but honestly examples will only go so far and there can always be thousands for or against something. Personally though I don't think the benefits would put weigh the amount of negatives, as it is now you get in a halfway done match you wait until the next one as if you back out you may have the same thing happen, with the way you suggest I think much more people will bail out of the games because they would know they can start fresh. It's how most people would rather go about anything, damn I screwed up ok well scrap that and let's start fresh as opposed to damn I screwed up let's see if I can fix this and make it ok instead of great.
