Hey! Guess what? Remember when everyone was whining about how we should have matchmaking for everything? Well, this is what you get, and it's the reason that some of us didn't and still don't want it for Nightfalls and Raids.
"Hey Bungie, we need matchmaking for everything!"
(Bungie)- "Probably not a good idea".
"Yes it is, your game sucks without it".
(Bungie)- "Fine...here you go. Try it out on the weekly heroics".
"Blam you Bungie!!! Look at all these AFK assholes! Fix it Bungie!".
(Bungie) "smh".

I can vogue for this statement myself. I don't AFK during strikes I love to sparrow troll. Why just this week on the weekly I killed these two guys with my sparrow so much they left. It's quite fun.

No there shouldn't be matchmaking for everything, but there should be more optional matchmaking available to include Nightfalls and lower end raids. Leave the Higher end raids as they are. The word here is 'optional'. I would also put in optional matchmaking for Strikes as well. That would give you a chance to do solo strikes at various levels if you wanted to.

What the -blam!- are you talking about? Afk isn't a problem except in the random strike play list
-
You're kidding yourself. Or you've gotten lucky. People AFK on weeklies ALL THE TIME for the free coins.
-
Never happened to me once, and if it did I'd just get two friends like for the night fall
-
If it was an option for everything, how would it hurt you?
-
Option is the key word. It hurts everyone when we're forced to play with AFKers. If it was optional, and I could opt out of it, fine with me.
-
My experience with matchmaking in weeklies has been great. You are not forced to match make. You can still go to LFG and find 2 others.
-
Kind of a lot of work just for the weekly.
-
Right, which is why that it is better to have matchmaking. I would rather deal with the ocasional AFKer than have to sit on LFG. Just leave and research if it happens.
-
It just wasn't necessary to begin with. Now that it's here, oh well, guess I'll deal with it. Would be nice to be able to deal with the freeloaders, though.
-
It was necessary. You just said it's a lot of work to find two others to beat it. I have only played with 1 AFKer since they added matchmaking. I left and researched. The only thing that is missing now is the ability to go solo. It would be nice if they added a "matchmkaing on"/"matchmaking off" feature which is what they should do with all the content.
-
Solo is what I prefer to randoms. Can do it anymore. An option would be fine. No option sucks. And no, I shouldn't have to go look for people on lfg to avoid lazy players. When I play with one other friend, yes, it bugs me to have some lazy jerk off get matchmade in with us, do nothing, and get rewards.
-
You can just leave in the current system. That is what I would recommend. I would agree though, they shouldn't have made it manditory. That was a mistake. But if the option is there, then everyone is happy. I don't understand why Bungie doesn't like choice...
-
Yeah, I usually leave, but I don't like starting over. Yesterday the other random and myself just finished the weekly by ourselves and let the AFK loser have his free ride.
-
rite.. i had never problems with afklers in weeklies.. if they dont want to move, no problem.. and restarting a strike /weekly isnt that hard/time consuming.
-
Exactly. I did three last night. The teams I had were great. They all pitched in heavily. I have had a few AFKers, its rare, but it is extremely easy to hold that Y button. Funny for the guy who is trying to leech and he finds himself in the same spot an hour later still needing to complete it.
-
I agree. Afk players have never been an issue for me. Bad players on the other hand though.... Last week I did the weekly heroic, had over 120 kill, the second closest was 40 and I had over 10 revives. It was disappointing.

I thought people wanted optional matchmaking for everything. Which I'm up for because maybe I want to solo things but other times I want to do stuff with people. But maybe they should matchmaking based on how much of the activity you've done. Basically someone who has done 100 strikes would be paired with someone who has also done 100 or so strikes. That way elite players would play with elite players and causal players would play with causal players.
