Everybody has come across one of these players during a strike, you enter a strike and you start running towards the first objective but you notice that at least one person from your fireteam isn't doing anything. Yeah we're dealing with someone who is AFK and just want to be a leech.
Basically people are like to enter a strike, watch tv and enjoy the reqards afterwards when about 15 minutes have passed. Some even take measures to not be disconnected for standing still for to long by holding their thumbstick in an angle so they start walking.
I don't mind having one person leave as a new person can join halfway the strike, the thing I'm personally anoyed by are these leeches.
Bungie needs to think of something that will deal with these people such as adding a rule that will make that person actively take part in the strike. Rules such as:
1st rule: You need to be inside the boss room at the end within a certain amount of time when 1 or both other fireteam members enter this room or you will be kicked.
Basically like adding a 6 minute timer when the first person enters and change it to 3 minutes when the second person enters the room.
2nd rule: You need to do at least x amount of damage in the strike or you won't receive any rewards. (People who enter midgame have to do less amount of damage).
Everyone should be able to achieve this certain amount of damage even if they've never gotten a kill in that strike.
As a part of the fireteam you need to be doing your part by adsisiting the other two guardians. Some people may say that deaths will decrease the possibility to achieve that score since you're out of the game, but then that means you're not actively taking part in your fire team and merely acting as a lone wolf. It's the risk you take.
I hope I get positive reactions and that people agree that Bungie needs to deal with this.

3 AntwortenThere are already rules in place for AFKs after 5 minutes of inactivity they get booted to orbit

I was doing the Phogoth strike when 1 went AFK and the other left. I got to a darkness zone and died on purpose, it spawned both of us back in that room where your ghost is trying to open the door. I sat there, respawning him over and over again while the Knights beat on him and killed him. It was pretty satisfying. After around 50 or so deaths, I got bored and just reported him and left.

Bungee needs to allow vote kicking
-
I agree its a problem. But the best way is the use the reporting tool in game that way bungie can get the numbers for it. Its worst when 2 of them go afk when you are left to deal with it. Had that afew times.

1 AntwortenWhy not just leave the strike and find another one? AFKers hate that and would eventually give up if people didn't carry them anymore.
-
2 AntwortenIf you are in a team you made, no afk timer. You made that team. If you mm a strike, if you aren't with you team at the first darkness zone, you get booted and a demerit. Demerits move you down the mm list, and make you wait longer for teams.

2 AntwortenI report them as inactive every time. Once, and I felt sorry for the third guy who was actually running the activity, I followed this AFK guy around and pushed him forward with my warlock melee to keep him moving. He was waiting until each checkpoint was reached by me and the other guy then moving forward. This was the third match where he ended with like 7 kills and I had enough. Finally he quit. It is definitely a problem. Maybe you can have the two other members vote for an inactive boot, and it flashes on that players screen as a countdown timer, so if he doesn't get active in like 10 seconds or something he is sent back to orbit. That eliminates the instaboot, and acts as a warning to that player. You'd then have to define active, but if you're two zones behind the team there's no way you could catch up and participate so you get booted.

1 AntwortenI only agree with the timer for when the other players reach the boss zone

Here is what you do Step 1- get a sparrow out Step 2- make sure the afk player is in front of a wall or a flat surface Step 3- ram them into the wall or flat surface Step 4- teabagg their ghost until they leave Step 5- enjoy the rest of your strike

Report Move on

I especially love AFK players on lv 32 weekly heroics.

I thought the reporting system banned people from doing strikes for being inactived. In my search for the Hopscotch Pilgrim, I don't think I came across AFKers. It was a problem during The Dark Below, though.

1 AntwortenI thought Bungie had fixed this in TDB where the system wad supposed to kick inactive players to orbit after a while. Hell, I've run with clan mates doing raids and such and gotten booted to orbit because I was AFK too long. I stopped running strikes for a while so I assumed it was still resolved. But since I've been running Dragon Strikes in search of a Hopscotch Pilgrim I've noticed a number of people somehow abusing the system. They either stay at the start or run along very slowly behind, maybe killing one ad in the middle. The system should be able to boot people if they are clearly not participating.

Just install a keylogger in the game. If they have no response for x amount of time, boot them, if they only press 1 button (rubber band style) for a certain amount of time, boot them. Or we could just do checkpoints. If you reach a checkpoint and the afk player hasn't yet reached the previous one, boot.

4 AntwortenI'm with you. I've learned that if you turn around and kill them with your sparrow a majority of the time they'll leave. At least give this a shot cause it's worked for me numerous times. Good luck guardian.

I just report them and leave
-
6 AntwortenJust add a vote to kick system
-
I don't see it at all anymore.
-
1 AntwortenI just wait for them to join in or I quit. They can help or they can find someone else to do all the work.

1 AntwortenHave some sort of zone rules

1 AntwortenThe last strike I did was Devils layer and both of my team mates were AFK. I did it just fine but it wasn't any kind of fun compared to three guardians blasting their way to the end :-(

i wish you could nudge them in game. sometimes when i see someone afk, i punch them, to see if i get a reaction if they are sitting behind their controller, as their controller starts to vibrate. sometimes they move and i give them a little time to sort out whatever they have to do in real life, you know could be a baby crying or the pizza man. Both important stuff. if they dont move for the whole strike I just report them for inactivity. If I'm matched again with them i just leave. No big deal.
-
I've seen players just place a rubber band or tape (I assume) on their controller so they sit in a corner and just spin so they don't get booted. There are too many ways for matchmaking to ruin the whole experience. I say get rid of it altogether but the tears would flow. In terms of strikes, let's face it.. Strikes are not hard and you really shouldn't need 3 people to beat it by this stage in the game (new players not included in that last point).

I have no issue if you want to take a minute to adjust your loadout or take a consumable but don't just sit there. It's soooooo annoying, especially on a strike you know will be a PITA with only two. I think the kick timer should be decreased to 60 seconds of inactivity if two people from the fireteam report someone for inactivity/unhelpful through the report feature. There, I didn't whine about it. I offered a solution and one that's totally feasible and workable.
