No, because it would truly break the game. Trading would definitely break the game because there would not be anymore incentive to play the game. For example, why play crucible or spend time doing strikes or raids when you could trade somebody a Monte Carlo for a Hawkmoon? All interest and incentive to keep playing Destiny would evaporate and after a few months, it would just be another video game disc sitting in your shelf or used as a coaster on your coffee table.

That's like saying getting paid takes away the incentive to work. Why would you trade then quit once you have powerful stuff. I have Gjallarhorn but I didn't quit the instant I got it. Why would someone given it quit? Lots of talk about how trading will "break the game" but there's yet to be an actual reason supporting that.
