Until dedicated servers are in every single region, no, this is not a good idea.
Sure, it's all fine and dandy for Americans to have dedicated servers, but what will happen to the rest of the playerbase? We'll all be playing with upwards of 100ms+ ping all game, every game. Dedicated servers are not a fun experience for anyone who is not very near to the country hosting the server.
I myself am an oceanic player. For me, unless a dedicated server is located in Australia, peer-to-peer will ALWAYS be preferrable over the usual ~250ms ping that happens when we play a game that has dedicated servers hosted in the USA.
So yeah. Unless dedicated servers will be hosted in literally every region, peer-to-peer with regional filters (what they're currently implementing for Trials) will ALWAYS be prefferable.

well why not pool oceanic players against oceanic on peer to peer. As far as I know they already do region matching anyway. Everyone I always come across in the tower is from Texas

But then we'd be seen as having an inferior experience to that of the US playerbase, despite paying the same (if not more). Either everyone gets dedicated servers, or no one does. Look, I'm as much for dedicated servers as the next guy, but ONLY if everyone benefits, and ESPECIALLY NOT if it means that others from around the world get consistent lag with no way to remedy it.
