I don't know anymore. They've certainly lost their charm. Why change a winning concept? It's as if they suffer from low self esteem .

Bungie love is still there, somewhere. Maybe we, the community, contributed to this with our malcontent.

Don;t know about malcontent, I see a lot of sadness, I feel it personally :(

Perhaps we are fooling ourselves. What if Bungie doesn't exist anymore? This could just as well be Bungievision for all we know.

I've come to that conclusion, times changes, everything changes. Most of the employees at Bungie I got to know over the years are gone. Marty was the last straw. Bungie is big time now and something got lost in the process. Game mechanics, visuals are as beautiful as ever, more beautiful on the new gen, I spend most of my time in Destiny observing (artist here). The mix of gaming styles is interesting but I don't play MMO and RPG so it's not for me. If the game could have had a soul, it would have been so much more enjoyable for people like me who don't care what they're wearing or if they carry the baddest weapon, but enjoy lone wolf missions, characters, immersion. Game wasn't made for me, I get that, but the complete disregard for that part of their fan-base was rough. The script made me cringe from beginning to end, the story could have been vague, but at least tell it in an enjoyable way. I watched/heard every vidoc, interview prior to game release, a lot of what was said and described never made it into the game. It was the stuff that matters to me, an epic story, interesting NPCs, the moments that make your heart race, emotions flow in a whole world that comes alive. Never happened. TLTR; Bungie not the old Bungie anymore, hate grinding, adverts told many stories that weren't in the final game...
