First post, been lurking for quite some time.
The main reason for not raiding? Ultimately it is low confidence in my gaming skills. Don't want to ruin anything for anyone else.
I started online gaming with quake 1,2, and 3. Actually placed 3rd in a Korean quake 3 tourney when I was stationed over there. But mouse and keyboard is much easier.
I also played EQ1 heavily at launch, EQ2, some WOW, shadowbane...etc.. but never participated in a raid. I had something like 2200 hours logged on my EQ1 character as a casual player over the years. Heh, that character name is my gamertag.
So.. it is what it is... maybe someday I'll try.

I say go for it. There's plenty of people on this forum who are more than willing to help out novice raiders, there are even a bunch right here in this thread. Don't be afraid to reach out, you're missing out on both a lot of fun, and a cool component of Destiny that's quite unlike anything else in the game. Good hunting, Guardian!

I have been considering it... but I'm going to start with strikes. I have done one and it was a disaster. My brother got a ps4 and the game yesterday, so I'm going to help him out, then we can tackle some strikes and then perhaps we could find VOG mentor. I think that will be fun.

With that gaming background a lack of confidence is surprising.
