So there can be less content?
Seriously?
I love PvE in games but that doesn't last that long. Even in games like WoW that have had years of content.
When I play an MMO (let's be honest that's what destiny wants to be) and there is no PvP element It doesn't hold my interest for long at all. People like to be competitive. It's the nature of the beast, get over yourself.

FYI: Destiny isn't an MMO.

Sorry it's a shell of an MMO "Open World Shooter." To deny the fact that, Destiny can mostly be compared to an FPS HUB MMO is just plain ignorance.

But Bungie said it wasn't an MMO, lol. The problem with Destiny is that it doesn't have enough of the right RPG or MMO elements to make the PVE work, and PVP doesn't have as many MMO elements as COD or Battlefield. At least in COD, the PVP teams play as the opposing forces from the single player game, but in Destiny, guardians are randomly pitted against each other, regardless of faction.

It's because they didn't want the stigma of calling it an MMO lol. They wanted to lure Halo, CoD, and Battlefield fans to try it. They missed the mark in many ways like RPG elements, support/healing roles. ( can kind of be made up with weapons & gear) a real cognitive story with actual quests, side missions, more open world activities, crafting, player housing. I see your point but it is more like PvP in FFXI it's just social sparring in the lore. Not faction vs faction like it was going to be.

The reasons why were valid. The MMO elements were one of my concerns with Destiny. I would not have bought an MMO. However, in my opinion, Destiny would have been a better game if they had included more MMO elements or had cut PVP entirely. Instead, they have a game that doesn't know what it wants to be, which is the worst outcome possible.
