I've read what IB is for this week but it makes 0 sense. I get the kill opponents, I read about the primed and surge streak but when do you get the primed vs surge? What happens in the hunt? I've played 5 matches and none make sense. I got 6 kills in a row nothing happened but the opponents have 2 what seem to be primed? Usually it's a free for all, I can't tell who to shoot at, and end up dieing. Can someone please explain what the point of IB is? Is there a strategy or is it just a free for all and the team with the most kills win?
Something else I don't understand. Opponents glowing red can't be killed? They can kill our team but we can't kill them? If someone is primed, do they get their super faster? None of this makes sense.

Eruption has always been terrible. It’s literally just blowout fest one way or the other. Nothing like being actively punished for going on a kill streak.

So I watched Cammycakes video on it. What i take from his video is that good players actually liked the game mode on CBMM and players hate it on SBMM. If CBMM can make someone like a game mode this bad, then that’s saying something.

1 ReplyIn simplistic terms... If you can strung together a few kills you get a buff that let's you get your super quicker. If you can avoid dying (the buff will kill you if have it too long... the buff timer will reset everytime you get a kill) So good players can really quickly super the fukk out of everyone else & dominate the game. Oh yeah... you score more points too. Once a team starts to dominate its almost always ends in a blowout. Game mode was designed for the sweaty 1% It is very unpopular with the other 99%

4 RepliesI've played all evening and this is what I've concluded. There are those who figured out how to play eruption and then there is everyone else like me. I've lost every match and they've been blowouts. The strategy seems to be if it's a large map, find out where the special drop points are on the edge then camp out there and pick off the opposing team with snipers. That's especially annoying because they don't show on radar. If it's a small map, the opposing team goes inside a bubble near a special or heavy drop point then picks us off with shotties, gls, or mgs. The other thing is, the other team gets supers really early because of dominating the opposing team. Then they cycle stormtrance, titan hammer, nova bombs among their team the rest of the match. The team that dominates early ends up winning. I don't think this is what bungie had in mind.

It's basically a game mode to skip this week unless you really have to do it for some sadistic reason

1 ReplyIn layman's terms, it's a really bad mode that results in blowouts and no one but certain basement dweller sweats enjoys it.

Edited by Kiro - 13: 9/18/2024 10:33:50 AMBasically its a game mode where if you play well the entire enemy team gets wall-hacks on you in addition to a debuff that kills you after a few seconds. The enemy team also gets bonus points for killing you on a streak. If your goal is to win the most meta and strategic play you can make is you kill after going on said streak, so your opponents dont get points the additional points. A killing tally hammer head is also encouraged because of the accelerated heavy spawn timers(once every 80seconds). None of that is a joke or hyperbole. Last time eruption was here it tanked & Bungie had to change the game mode mid way through the week.
