Exotic quest should be side quests, NOT the first step of a campaign. I run solo and got episode 3, and can’t even do the campaign!!!!!! Grinding just to play but feel there surely are many people who are as disappointed as I am. Some exotic quests I can do solo, others I can’t. But that SHOULDN’T affect playing through the campaign.

1 ReplyEdited by Dooodley: 9/18/2024 5:00:46 AMThe difficulty of the misison is pretty tame (might just be the easiest exotic mission) but it's also boring as hell and all the chest hunting and having to do it several times is just meh. I really wish they'd skip the jumping BS and puzzling in every -blam!- mission. Just let me shoot stuff. So yeah, it's not hard, it's just time consuming and boring.

Encore is VERY soloable. Best of luck

2 RepliesBungie's design philosophy for making the game more "fun" has helped me kick the D2 addiction. I can't seem to quit this forum just yet tho.

9 RepliesI stopped at this mission. It's the farthest in the seasonal/episodes questlines I've ever been. I have no interest in running it as buggy as it sounds right now. I'm slow and steady, and not so great but getting better. With no checkpoints and limited time to play (though I almost always play Destiny) I don't want to face a bug over and over on multiple sessions. Then I found out you have to run it over and over and at a higher difficulty than I've ever attempted to complete the episode. Sorry. Nope. I want to try harder (for me) content when I'm ready for it. Not when it's required for progression.

If you need help and are willing to team up DM me, I enjoy the mission. It's not bad but the boss room can be difficult solo.

Edited by waterpolo1: 9/18/2024 10:14:27 PMBrother, the entirety of act 3 is the exotic mission. There are no other story missions except that. Like you gotta do this mission 3-4 times. IDK if you are one of the toxic solos who troll these forums but if you need help let me know. This mission goes not require a mic. I can even help with the catalyst and secrets if you're down. Personally i do not mind and exotic mission being part of the campaign if it is tied to the story being told. But as you can tell by playing this season, the story sucks. Might as well just get this new exotic and have fun with it until Bungie nerfs it next season instead of fixing the bugs in this game.

The mission wasn’t all that hard. Took me anywhere from an hour to an hour 30 at most. This was going in completely blind and not running a build optimized for Damage or Survival. It’s not all that hard. Especially compared to the last exotic weapon mission we got. (Sunbracers Build Baby! My bread and butter. Been using it since D1 :) )

10 RepliesI agree. However the bungie defenders will bash you.
-
Prepare yourself, this season the exotic quest "is the story". You'll have to do it again and again and again and again and again

5 RepliesEdited by SkinPoppeR: 9/18/2024 4:39:44 AMI treated this Exotic Mission like an old raid in D1. (I’ve never done a raid in D2. 😂) I’d tell my Wife “Honey, I’m gonna do this mission for at least two hours.” And as a solo player like clockwork it would take me an hour to get to the final boss. And then another hour taking my time to not die and clear every enemy and then focus on the boss. It took me 3 hours to do my third run getting all the secret portal rooms. All I got left now is the expert run and anomalies. Which there is no way as a solo player I can beat that on Expert Mode. I hope it doesn’t unlock something useful cause I’ll never have it. That said, I enjoyed this Exotic Mission more than last year’s Vex Caliber mission. The ending of that was ridiculous. Just hide in the hole and hope the Wyverns don’t flatten you. I couldn’t tolerate running that mission more than once.

2 RepliesDidn't they do this with Wish-Keeper last Season? They forced you to run the Exotic Mission for the "story"?
-
I agree, unless the exotic quest is specifically designed to be easy and have major naritive beats in it. Wishkeeper was the same, it was relevant to the plot and as such it was part of the seasonal questline. (Same as Seraph Shield as well) Bungie clearly prefers the exotic quest being part of the narrative, it increases the aquisition rate of the exotics (items they most likely spend the most time designing). They dont want their hardwork wasted, its already going to waste given how few people raid.

It’s actually pretty fun to run solo once you know we’re you’re going, the first time it feels like it takes forever. I suggest using a good pulse rifle, rocket sidearm and a machine gun. Save your super for the tormentor and use the pillars as cover for the boss fight, once the boss goes to the middle go to the left side, there are two pillars kind of close to each other, get behind them and shoot the boss between the pillars, there’s a sweet spot where you can hit the boss without taking much splash damage.
-
I do agree, though it’s easier to find people to do it now it’s been added to the in game LFG.
-
2 RepliesI haven't done it yet but judging by this post it's definitely top 3 easiest exotic missions.
-
If you can’t do this one solo, then find someone to help you. It’s not that hard (for the mission, or to find help).

This mission and the other mission for the strand exotic bow were part of the seasonal story line so bungie made the missions with difficulty levels that even the least experienced guardians can get through it. What are you struggling with in this mission?

Cayde-7115 hostages held by hamas over 11months - old
And if the mission wouldnt have rewarded an exotic, would it make it easier for you? -
What’s your issue with the mission?
