This game is making us use too many legendary shards. I had 2,000 shards at the start of the season, that quickly went down to 100.
Every week has been too much of a grind to get shards. I have to get loot, delete it and then use the shards to infuse, buy upgrade modules, buy this and that and other things.
Buying an engram from Xur or any other vendor should not cost more than 10 shards.

Funny how Bungie removed the ability to purchase legendary shards with glimmer & then they jacked the currency costs & usage rates of shards. LOL

8 RepliesProblem is that all the long term players have had large stashes of legendary shards that they never burn through. Personally I have over 18,000 from playing in the past. So bungie's normal approach is to jack up the price in order to make people use them up, or they just come up with a new currency which replaces the old one. In result the players that don't have a stash start to be at a major disadvantage.

10 Repliesi love these comments as they blatantly ignore the fact that bungie has made weapon focusing and armor & weapons obtained from xur cost like 50 legendary shards which will drain your legendary shards unless you're a veteran who has been playing since D2 day 1, bungie makes these cost a lot so people with too many legendary shards could burn them to make them poor on legendary shards again but instead the newer players are made broke as the veterans already have everything therefore there is no reason for them to be focusing in the first place

Just buy them. Oh wait, they removed that option from the game.

Edited by Barbrouge391: 7/31/2022 3:00:10 PMOnce you have gathered 250k glimmer from playing, buy blue season one transmat effects from collections to the total amount, then visit Amanda Holiday at the tower, convert three of the blues you purchased for a legendary transmat effect then dismantle, and repeat for all blues. Doing this you will receive one shard for every single one you dismantle, you are able to gain over 100 at a time, popping a Rainmaker consumable and running legendary lost sectors really help, in a day you can gain over 1000. It is slow but in the long run, will help you manage the economy of the game. Best of luck.

11 RepliesWhat are you spending them on? I had 6,000 at the start of season, I’m now at 12k.

It’s how currency works. You spend it. And you have to earn it. -
I’m constantly hovering around 50-100 shards lol

You're obviously doing something wrong.

Do not buy engrams from Rahool. They are a waste of shards. Play strikes, get weapon drops at the end, dismantle, rinse and repeat. Shards are better spent on stuff like umbral focusing. Lastly, Ascendant shards and alloys drop from high end activity's. Its better to level and get them from GMs. Xur will also be selling some worth while armor from time to time.

This game is making us use too many legendary shards.
? Not me. I get to choose what I want to spend my shards on.

I don't know what you're spending them on, but I'm pretty sure I spend a few thousands a season and am always having more than I spend. If you're focusing too much, that's your problem.

1 ReplyDelete every gun besides whats in your inventory. You are never going to pull them out again. Only exception is Armor 1.0 exotics or raid weapons with different elemental damage than its collection form.
-
130k and always going up. No glitch farm either btw. Just delete EVERYTHING, it's all junk anyway.

2 RepliesStop infusing every single piece you get.

1 ReplyWhat you spending them on? I have like 7500

2 RepliesEdited by Kiro - 13: 7/31/2022 4:34:30 AMDestiny 2's resource econ is geared toward an attempt at depleting veteran players resources(which we laughed in the face of), when the economy should be geared toward the common citizens and not the 1%. I was aware of this problem though so when I more recently got my brother to play the game we did guardian game medal cheese and stocked up his materials. Hes burned through most of them now. It was eye opening though because he recently thought all thoes upgrade mods planetary resources and shards were inherently given to each account. To which end I had to remind him that no it was from exploiting a seasonal event and not the normal player experience. Last week he expressed a desire to stock up on resources again in a similar fashion, but I had to let him down and tell him they fixed it this week. With that short regaling of events, I ask who was the legendary campaign cheese hurting???!!!!????!!!!!! Not I who has more resources then I could spend, not the new light who has nothing, their is no "end game" rewards like trials so its not devaluing a players experience. The only victim here I can think of is Bungie's user count they flexed to sony and netease, to show they are worthy of investment. Dont take this as a down with the system how dare they make money, they are right to. But squeezing the newlights is not the way chief.

I sympathize. I maintain an account for my daughter that's always low on shards. Be on the lookout for the next time there is an infinite legendary shard glitch. Seems like it's about once per year.
-
I started to run out too, I had to stop focusing engrams. The cost is enormous and you still don’t get what you want.
-
Should’ve done the shard glitch. Was worth it. 25k shards and counting
