Seriously. Every SoH I look at the armor & am just like " I wouldn't use this armor if it was free - Let alone grind for day to obtain it & pay money for it to glow."
It's not the grind or the money either. I grind the hell out of this game & Bungie owns my wallet.
Edit: The statement is meant to be facetious. Laugh. I fully understand that beauty/art is subjective.

2 RepliesNot just solstice armor, but 90% of what they release, man. A lot of time I envy folks that use females as characters because the armor actually looks decent on them whereas the males just look ridiculously bulky.
-
8 RepliesI just wish the armor design team would stop putting mohawks on everything.

1 ReplyWhether you love it or not, the whole 'look' goes out the window if you decide to use an exotic. So.... Look 'cool' or use an exotic? Guess it's good if you use Assassins Cowl. God, I wish they'd make an ornament for AC!
-
It's well fuggly.
-
1 ReplyI personaly don't like the glowing ornaments for this year myself so this is the first time since D2 started doing a Solstice event that I will not buy the ornaments and not a fan of the armour itself.
-
Idk, i honestly don't mind the armor that much, but man, the fins of the glows are driving me nuts. I'm not a fish, why do i need my shoulders to look that way?

Edited by dead fighter 3: 7/31/2022 2:27:50 AMLasts years was meh, the one's before it were very nice looking, but the grind was cringe, this year the armor is so hideous I don't even wanna grind it for the god tier stat scaling you can get.
-
5 RepliesIt's not the look that I am disappointed with. It is the stats. I see all kinds of videos on YouTube that tell you how to use it to get triple 100's, but I am just not getting rolls that good. The supposedly "small chance" that the stat total will go down only seems to apply to the first two steps of imbuing with the ash. The last one, the Spark of X, that you can use to set one stat to at least 20 as well as the ghost mod to guarantee a different one to be at least 10, has dropped the total from where it was after two embers at least as often as not for me. That second ember will usually get the piece at least to 60 but as high as 66. But whenever it was 62 or above, the total would often drop to a point or two below where it was when I use the Spark. After having fully rekindled every slot and imbued at least 20 armor pieces with Sparks, I have only gotten one with a total of 65, and none higher. That is way below the rate of good rolls I get when focusing engrams. And a lower total might be tolerable if the distribution of stats was decent, but it usually isn't. Maybe I'm just having really bad luck, but this seems to be not as advertised from my perspective.

The set that came out the same year as stasis had a good set, after that it’s been downhill

Yeah i got a stupid bird on my head….

not just you.

1 ReplyWasn't particular on the '18 and '19 sets, '20 I was okay with but dawning was still better '21 was pretty much the best had all the flair I liked but the armor looked good. Only the hunter set looked good this year the other two didn't have one good part about them. Freaking warlocks got pointed boots

Edited by Aether, Primordial of Lght: 7/30/2022 11:17:40 AMI know looks are subjective, personal preferences and what not... But im inclined to agree, 2019 version was the last great looking set, the 2020 one was pretty good but after that the sets fell off hard for me.

I think it's trash this time. Takes shaders really bad too.

dude with transmog it could look like paper boxes, what piss me off is my gears go from 62 to 54...

2 RepliesIt's ugly alright lol, just like the majority of armour sets in the game. For example, All Iron banner sets are disgusting! Trials sets are God awful, with the exeption being Titan and Hunter sets from year 1. It's like Bungie hires toddlers to draw up designs for them lol. I will say that some of the exotic ornaments look petty cool, they must have got professionals in to design them though.
-
1 ReplyThe hunter armor is gross especially the legs
-
The Hunter one is like pure ugly, the Warlock one is ugly but not nearly as much the Titan one is the only good one but that's only if you equip the glow and Bungie kinda messed up the glows recently and now they are kinda weird/ugly till they fix it in the next Solstice event
-
Lots of ugly armor to go around. Hunter helmets are the worst. Titan's have no neck so most helmets look too small and make the shoulder pads look huge. I'd like to see exotic universal armor. It wouldn't give you any exotic perks, but you could wear the Stags Head and still use an exotic chest piece.
-
Edited by ThatCheffyGamer: 7/29/2022 11:05:57 PMNah some of it looks awesome, but I wouldn't say the any of it is ugly. Maybe just less desirable.

That's what happens when everyone says the glowing armor from D1 moments of triumph was the best armor. I like glows too, but not on every piece, and not when it's right in your face. Might sound like an emo Hunter, but I want more spiky/thorny armor.
