They've finally submitted to the reality that most players are not aiming to be pro's or content creators and just wanna play against dudes of similar skill and have a bit of fun.
I expect a YT backlash from all the usual suspects over the coming days, but personally, me and my 0.27kd can't wait to run about and kill other people just as bad.

1 ReplyJust play like all the "skilled" players - hide in the background, watch your teammates die to get the easy finish off their damage, use a ridiculous setup (like constant invisibility, or lorelie titan), or leave whenever the teams seem balanced

10 RepliesIt’s really only going to matter to the really skilled players, the average and low skilled players will generally be doing the same.
-
15 RepliesTime to purposely play bad to get into a lower skill bracket. 😈
-
2 RepliesCant wait to see you back here complaing after you raised that kd and fight actual good people.
-
Its light sbmm so youll still being playing against people better than you its still not fair grounds
-
21 RepliesLet’s be VERY CLEAR The ONLY ones complaining will be the usual suspects..sweats who purposely stomp their KD against weaker players and YT / Twitch content creators who also purposely use the skill unbalance in crucible to make content.. They will use lines like “oh the connections “ “oh the lag” which as we have all seen is some of the worst in last few seasons.. They will cry because they can’t artificially inflate their precious KD in stacks stomping weaker players.. boo hoo

Only issue I have with SBMM or rather the loose creation they’re trying next season is the match balancing once it’s 12/12. Last thing I wanna see is lobby balancing per team take a hit due to SBMM. I’ve improved over the years and don’t really want my games to feel like a sweat fest. Don’t get me wrong I’m down for the challenge and I had never stat farmed. I’m just hoping Bungie is going to actively observe the info from the first few weeks of next season. I have high hopes for this system in helping those in OP’s situation but I hope this new system doesn’t shaft players in my position. We’ll find out next season.

1 ReplyThere should be a lobby for the -blam!- And a lobby for those who don’t give a -blam!-.
-
Yup, and with SBMM comes everyone from Italy/mexico ending up in your lobby, and running into/through walls before deleting your team and tagging your family.
-
I’m hoping at the very least the changes will sort out premade teams. There are way too many toxic trashbags being led through clans and the like that just outright ruin the game for the regulars and solos.
-
Am looking forward to sbmm as it will make control a lot easier for me.. I just want teams vs teams and I will be content
-
And so the cycle repeats
-
51 RepliesSbmm is the future of: Laggy games Meta only load outs Inability to play with lesser or better skilled friends Longer load times More toxicity in game More unnecessary nerfs I mean I can keep going….but I guess it’s time for this community to learn why sbmm killed D1 pvp. Hope you guys at bungie have D3 lined up waiting. You’re going to need it after this dumpster fire again.
-
5 RepliesActually they didn't. Datto didn't say to do this so it's not actually happening. Because as we all know bungie exclusively listens to datto and only datto

3 RepliesFor y'all rooting for poor YTbers: there will be much more "just disconnect him" moments while streaming. Nice!
-
3 RepliesAnd then people start going on about wanting connection based matchmaking... it is a never ending cycle.
-
1 ReplyI think the mode will still be a mess. There are a multitude of issues in PvP and SBMM is just one piece of it.
-
47 RepliesYou guys are naive, whats to stop players from tanking their skill level to roll you guys? Think about it, trial players already reset their cards at 6 wins. Nothing is going to stop them from tanking a few games to then steamroll their way to victory and use that as footage of how “good” they are lol.

1 ReplyEdited by Insatiable: 7/29/2022 3:23:45 AM0.27? They will need to program AI for you because even the average crucible player isn't this bad. You do know you have to aim at enemies and hold down the trigger, correct? Good luck finding a ton of players within your skill band that want to play pvp . Most at your level wouldn't engage whether or not there is skill based matchmaking.
-
2 RepliesWell, my crucible torture … erhm I mean … experience can only improve at this point. Question is whether this change can bring in more players again. The bigger the player pool the better any matchmaking can work obviously. I fear Bungie may have left PVP to rot and fester for too long, for there to be any significant population increase. But hey, here’s to hoping.

And honestly, i found No Joy in shooting fish in a barrel Scenario, so I'm happy as well 👍
-
Good thing my kid shares my account. He's horrible at PvP.
-
3 RepliesAll that's going to happen is that the players are going to engage like usual, complain that they're still losing and wonder why PVP is so bad rather than blame their own performance. It's going to be the same nonsense again. It's a cyclical pattern and many here have the attention span of a goldfish and the reasoning of a gnat.

3 RepliesIt needed lobby balancing, not SBMM. Bungie sure love catering to the wrong crowd.
