Game keeps crashing in orbit/in between matches/activities. [SOLVED]

My game runs fine for the entire strike/crucible match/whatever I'm doing. It's when I go back to orbit after any activity that the game crashes. The screen goes black, my GPU goes into full force fan speed (while temps are normal), everything still works (I'm not booted out of discord or teamspeak) but with a black screen. I made a screenshot when this happened (because maybe it is just the output to my screen) and it also produced a black image. so no video is being created at all anymore. This only started yesterday. everything was ok before that. I've tried; verifying game files reinstalling the game give the game higher prio (in task manager) disabling shader cache updating nVidia drivers reinstalling nVidia drivers (clean install, after full driver removal) reverting to older drivers lowering in game settings to lowest rebooting my router (because network maybe?) reseating GPU and RAM I have no idea what else to try. anyone have any ideas? or shall I wait for any update (game or drivers) until I can play again? oh, playing on I9-9900K, 32GB of RAM @ 3200mHz, RTX3090. So I have no issues with system requirements.

Update: Big thanks to TechyKory! I do have the same issue when stresstesting my system (using 3Dmark stresstest, TimeSpy) after about 15 minutes. edit: I just installed Windows optional update 20H2 (https://www.windowslatest.com/2021/02/25/windows-10-kb4601382-20h2-is-now-rolling-out-with-improvements/) which has gotten me through a stress test (same test as before). So I'm going for a test game again :) The solution.... just play without side panels and see if the temps of the CPU are ok. GPU did not go above 65C, and the CPU was going above 90C right before crashing. Pulling out the compressor tomorrow and I'll be re-pasting the CPU.
