I would routinely get pounced in quickplay before SBMM. My PVP skills have flourished in an environment where it is safe to learn and where I can see myself improve. For the benefit of everyone here is my best tldr: 1) my perceived improvement in SBMM is false and my progress is infact stagnant. My response: strictly working with the data available via Destiny Tracker on my account as it was collected, it is not possible to ascertain the confidence intervals for our sample size, and without that there is no statistical significance. Until someone goes into this with a blank slate and a rigorous methodology we just have our perspectives. 2) SBMM is only constructive for players with a negative k/d My response: I appreciate this perspective, but I am concerned ( a la True Vanguard) that a sliver of this criticism is conflating a broken mechanic with their personal skill ceiling. 3) conceptually SBMM is sound, but it's implementation causes lag and wait times which worsens the player experience more than it betters it. My response: I feel you. This has not been my personal experience. I can appreciate this would be frustrating. Whatever the backend mechanics of SBMM may be, we expect the game to work.
