How did you have hard times? Don't you believe in God? Why didn't he just make your life perfect?

Can we not do this? This thread is for blowing off steam not building it up.

There is strength in the name of Jesus Christ. God didn't even make Jesus' life any better than Jesus himself did. He knew who he was, even when going through trial and execution. I walk by my faith in Jesus, and even when the odds seem stacked against me, the one I call lord, has a function for me in every situation I'm placed in. Making me the perfect tool to affect the people in my life for his honor and glory.

I..................what?
-
God can make my life perfect, but because he can does not mean he will, or that I deserve it.
-
Why wouldn't he? Isn't he a benevolent God?
-
You go from questioning the quality of my life to the quality of my god.. Which do you care more about? If you care about neither, then you're welcome to silence your scoffing.
-
I'm questioning how you can have anything bad in your life if you have a benevolent omnipotent God? Why isn't your life perfect?

Edited by TidalSurge: 12/22/2014 11:34:01 PMHow is your life so good if you don't have a god? Hmm? Because god does not withhold blessing from those who deserve them. And he does not lather up those who believe in him with the greatest lives possible, either. He is fair and just and expects us to be humble. A few concepts you clearly know nothing about. Your hate spills out of your mouth but it originated in your heart. Honestly, it doesn't surprise me that you reveal this weakness.

Edited by John Doe: 12/23/2014 3:18:25 PMBenevolence would imply that he would make all as perfect as possible, so to deny that is to accept the fact the your God is in fact not benevolent.

Where's your rebuttal? What happened to your ambition to tear my god off his thrown? It seems to have subsided until you find a new believer to victimize. It's about time for you all, as atheists, grow up and matured a little bit.

Edited by John Doe: 12/23/2014 2:40:47 PMI stopped replying because your replies have grown incoherent and rambling on without addressing the question. There's no point in arguing with someone like you. And it's "throne". That said, my point is this: Why, in his infinite benevolence did your God not make everything perfect? Christianity dictates an omnipotent, omniscient, and benevolent God, so that is why I characterize it as such.

Edited by TidalSurge: 12/23/2014 3:04:44 PMYou misrepresent and fail to properly apply the entire concept of benevolence, yet I've grown incoherent? This is why it's time for you to grow up. I'm willing to debate and I'll even admit that I'm wrong if need be, but I won't be some punching bag while you get your punches in, and you was having a ball until you realized how incoherent YOU have become. Ya know, as long as they are conceived in rational thought and analyzed with reason, logic, and sensibility I could care less what you say, but don't think you can stroll through this side of the neighborhood and be treated like a neighbor . You are a blasphemer bc in spite of the goodness I'm trying to share with people, you come drooling with hate and contempt, for me and my god, when the topic was asking about y'all. As you've seen I'm not above your question when you aren't incontinently flashing your pride and egotistical psyche, and even still I'm not above them, I just know they weren't conceived out of curiosity so you didn't come to reason in the first place. Or is my logic fallible?
#quiterekt
Your entire argument is invalid. You say that I am misrepresenting the concept of benevolence, yet I am only applying it as it is defined. Infinite benevolence means that it necessarily follows that this God would make everything as good as it possibly could be. It's a deductively valid argument based on definition, and as such, is sound as the premise that God is infinitely benevolent is categorically true when applied to Christianity.

You're misrepresenting god. My apologies. I was wrong. You should gather more intelligence about god before concluding you think you know all there is to know. You sound like an undisciplined child yelling bc he didn't get what he wanted from Santa. He blames his parents for Santa not knowing but he blames Santa because he's supposed to check his list twice. You're attacking me for something you should resolve with god himself. The reason why you don't find the answers is bc you aren't looking for answers, but for opinions. Then by some authority you have the power to thwart my assessment of your ignorance. Telling me it's invalid does not rustle my jimmies bc it's obvious what is irrelevant to you. You just try to carry on like there's some deeper meaning to asking when will god make it perfect, when the only thing I notice is... God can. Why would I focus on the hate you have for something you don't perceive to even exist? If he doesn't exist in your mind, then this concept that you've manifested of this "infinite benevolence" is invalid. Tell me why you can grasp this concept long enough to spread hate and blaspheme the name of god, but you overlook love and grace and mercy and forgiveness and loyalty and faithfulness, all unfailing.. Oh, but you want him to be only "infinitely benevolent" so we can get great things from god without having to love him. Can you begin to see you own incoherence? I'm not here to appease you and if by persisting that god is benevolent suffices for your lack of understanding, then you'll be on you way, hopefully with a seed of faith inside you.

When you say "would", you're imposing your own desirability on the definition. By no definition does benevolence determine the action carried out. It is a manner in which one may or may not oblige. If someone is malicious, that does not mean they must do harm to every person they see, but a defining characteristic of the capability of the entity. This is like saying a non profit charity shouldn't be charitable because they get nothing in return. But you're saying that god would only ever be benevolent because that is a distinguishing trait. His name is not benevolent, but what appreciation does a blind man have for miracles if they do not give him sight.
-
And what do you have that is bad?
-
What? I'm talking about you, not me.
-
Are you above answering my questions?
