The only people this slows down are us casual players. Like an hour a day kinda casual. I rank up maybe once every two weeks or something? And that's if I go ham on bounties. Sooo... Bungie put in a mechanic to slow down player progression and ended up only slowing down the slow players. *clap*...*clap*...*clap*... Well done...

Well said. I'm in the same boat, I get maybe a couple hours a day if I'm lucky (real World shit like jobs and family take up so much of my gaming time!). I always feel left behind in this game because the hardcore gamers are advance at an exponential rate compared to me. :-(
-
In the same boat. I don't have time for this bullshit. would be so happy if they took away the rank 3 requirement before getting commendations. Spent the past week (anytime I could play) going from rank 1 to rank 2 in crucible and was so pumped when I ranked up. but then noticed that I didn't get a commendation. So yeah. -blam!-ing irate

I agree with Neon. There are now way to many currencies. Not enough faction points awarded for doing missions. The missions are stupid and boring as hell. And oh yea, I'm still paying for all of the exotics I already got and have to renew now and do all over again and pay more for exotic shards. Game should be renamed Grinder, not Destiny. If we new what our destiny was we would have told our "Little Light" to go away and let us sleep...
-
If you only play an hour a day, what are you doing? You should be doing bounties and patrols and strikes. That should rank you up pretty quick.
-
I am in a similar position to Neon. Bounties, patrols etc are OK but I look for variety because the game needs to be fun. I try & balance levelling with enjoying what I am doing. I agree with Neon's view on it. Even worse with new dlc vendor lady whatsit. Mix between bounties for her & trying to get 3 new pieces of armour levelled, accumulate shards & whatever mats are required.

Probably real world stuff like working, caring for yourself or family, socializing outside of the game. People who do other things in there life want to be able to play too. Not everyone wants to work the game like a second job and bungie forgets this when they designed a game that is supposed to be accessable to millions of players.
-
I get that. I have a family as well. My point was you can level up once a week at about an hour a day of you do your bounties and Nightfalls. Takes some of the fun away for sure. I apologize if I came across condescending.
-
Yeah I don't know about you but an hour a day is not usually enough time to even match up times with your buddies who would do the nightfalls or raids. And if you do all the bounties in a day it takes about an hour or two alone and gives maybe 400 rank toward the reputation for only 1 character and that's assuming you can do all those since one is usually 3 public events that you have to wait around for.
-
Exactly. I get so pissed off not being able to do those things. I've only done the raid 1.5 times, and I've done the nightfall once, and the weekly like 3 times... Out of 80 some odd hours. And the recruitment section on here never seems to work

https://www.the100.io?r=77390 Hey! This site is really good for matchmaking. It's free to use, you can join a group of casual players, serious players, parents, students, you name it there's a group for it, even a parent and child group! You can join up to three groups of 100 players, that's 300 guardians to fight with. Create your own games or join someone else's and then PSN/Xbox Live takes over to set you up in a fireteam. Literally any activity is covered, select a patrol, bounty, raids, absolutely anything. You can set level requirements and use the mobile friendly site to set up games while you're at work so players are ready to join later. It's honestly a great site :-)

I'm not taking weekends into account. I usually have 7 or 8 hours combined on Friday Saturday and sunday. My bad.
-
Except that I play this game for fun not to rank up as quick as possible. I do mostly crucible and I've done the raid once and I do nightfall/weekly when I have people to help me.
-
Then you're good to go with the gear you have. You only need the new gear if you aren't 30 and want to do the nightfalls or raid.
-
except most of the content in the game requires you be close to the level cap, especially if you want to play the only !@#$ing event they ever have anymore, the Iron Banner. if you want to level even one legendary gun or set of armor at a reasonable pace you need to play the lvl 30 story and to be effective in the crucible you have to be able to get rare weapons reliably at least, which means you need to play crucible nonstop and get lucky or play Roc which needs lvl 26 so you need some legendary gear. The game keep forcing players to have to be shooting to that top tear with nothing bellow it to enjoy
-
I do Crucible mostly. I leveled up to 20 in it. But I got gear from doing the Crucible. I got rares in every slot from the Crucible and was lvl 24 before I got my first light-bearing Legendary. (full AOS #AL-SUHAIL gear or some crap like that). I did iron banner like that and got ranked enough for the Legendary chest. (also got gear upgrades which put me at 26 from PvP match rewards) Crucible directly rewards skill and Iron crucible allows gear benefits but you'd be surprised how many of those players with good gear suck. You just gotta be able to take the good with the bad and keep pushing on. It's a grind.
-
Yeah I know I am. I never said I wasn't. But sometimes I do enjoy the harder pvp content, the raid and the nightfall I've done were a lot of fun, I just usually have no one to do them with. But RNGesus hates me, I have gotten about 4 legendary drops from the 3days I've put into the game, and 2 were just materials, so the vendors was the only way I got my gear (plus the lucky double gear drop from the raid). All in all it won't bother me to much, it is just a little annoying, and even more annoying I suspect for the causal pve only players.
-
I'm pretty casual as well. Maybe a bit more than casual, but not by much.
