disagree, i am a noob and just on the last spot but i find it normal that the top 3 should be more rewarded then the last ones.
every one should get some reward but the chance on getting it should be higher for the top players then for the bottom row players.

its random now. i would like a reward system like this (just for the idea) top 3 always a blue engram and mats, chance purple engram 25% exotic 2% other players mats, chance on engram blue 10% / purple 5% exotic 1% mats could be anything (spinmetal, shard, coin etc)

so lets say try hards instead of doing raids 6 times a week Weeklies 6 times and dailies 21 times in a week+ loot caves or otger farming methods with diffrent charecters stop doing that and instead go to play PvP alll day . Tgen tgere would always be 1-2 try hards in tge lobby (if yur lucky) sometimes they like grouping up together to beat other try hards so sometimes yull get a full team of try hards tgen casual players would get rapped nd never be able to compete for tge top score.

this could be a next step for Bungie, introducing a ranking system, when i am correct wow has something like 'rated battle grounds' create a system with groups 0-50 / 50-100 / 100 -150 etc you get some points depended on your place in the crucible matches, and you can only do battles with other players who have the same points (group) as your self. so a player with 125 points can not do a battle with a player with 25 points. instead of replacing something they can make an extra map(s) for this.
