Yeah, as a lawyer, I can tell you that this wasn't a bright idea. This is likely because many people aren't familiar with IP law.
You are effectively stealing. Taking something that isn't yours and making money from it. It does not matter if that money is meant for a charity or not. That is money that would have gone to the IP holder but won't because of your actions.
However, attempting to obtain a license from Activision or Bungie (whoever holds the property rights to the IP) would be the best and only way to go.
Honestly, I'd do a little research into the importance of IP law and how it works just so you don't feel like "the big bad company" didn't let you use their property. I understand you had the best of intentions but that only goes so far. Your work was very good. I would buy it. Hopefully, Bungie or Activision can see that and use your talents. Best of luck.

Edited by Cyanide: 8/13/2014 6:07:34 PMI wonder how sites like www.gamer-heaven.com are able to sell so many licensed merchandise. Maybe he can go through that site above.
licensed merchandise
There's your answer. :)

I know. I want to know what that site had to do.

Well first you contact company to pitch idea then if given green light you can do a more detailed brief were both parties can agree on terms. Once an agreement is made depending on type of contract money is either paid for use of using license products & production/sales can begin.

That website has over like 50 games. I wonder how much profit they make

could easily be a percentage amount. Depending on sales predictions could see some companies doing 1-5%.

Aha. Sorry, I misunderstood you.

Well stated.
