I voted handcannon because I think they need more love on the broader scale, but pulse rifles were equally poor, although for more vague reasons.
General consensus is that the skill cannons were subpar, which is true. The most common complaint, however, is there l ow capacity. Will someone please respond and explain why this is a really stupid complaint? Don't have time before I go to work to do it. What hand cannons really needed was a niche. They weren't special. Same purpose as a scout rifle, precision mid range combat, but with a third of the clip size, same reload speed, and negligible difference in damage and accuracy.
I think to really set them apart they need something unique, and I think that answer is dual wielding its the only weapon in the game it makes sense with and it's the only weapon in the game than I feel really needs it.

The point of a hand cannon is high damage output, precision, at the cost of fire rate and ammo capacity. Maybe they should buff the damage to that of a sniper or a shotgun because they belong to that. Or if they make it so you can fan the revolver like Borderlands and fire as fast as the trigger is pulled. Then people would like them more.

Meh frankly to drastic of a change this early, it was a alpha, personally I feel a stat buff is both easier to do and easier to balance than redoing the gun, plus dual wielding just feels sooo cheesy, especially compared to the more accurate two hand grip it currently has.

And for pulse rifles, personally I think they should be removed and give auto rifles a fire select switch. They're kinda in the same boat as the skill cannons, nothing special.

And where would you control said switch selection? So far as I know all buttons are already in use.

Edited by FaceMeetMace237: 7/2/2014 11:37:32 AMThe only other thing I can think to add flavor to the pulse rifles us to make them similar to the fallen weapons. Three round burst of slower moving energy rounds that have some measure of tracking. A slight "bullet bend" towards the target. Right now, again, they just offer so little of a difference between the scout and auto rifles.
