I will buy it refurbished likely around $1800, and it will come with DDR4 16GB RAM, 1TB storage, quad i7 3740QM processor clocked at 3.7GHz (once I'm done with it hehe), and dual 2GB HD 7970M graphics cards.
Link. $1200. 16 RAM. 1 TB Storage WITH 24 GB SSD. 4th Generation Intel Core i7-4700MQ Processor (2.40GHz 1600MHz 6MB). Dual NVIDIA GeForce GT750M GDDR5 2GB graphics cards, with the second one being in an ultrabay. Just saying... you can get near enough to the same thing for much, much cheaper.

I just wanted your opinion if this is a good deal or not. I know a lot of people hate Alienware (I'm usually one of those people as well but with laptops, it's different), and I would NEVER buy an Alienware desktop because I'm no stranger to custom PC builds, but gaming laptops such as this are completely new to me. So please just give me some input.
People don't hate Alienware because they aren't good. People say not to buy them because they are massively overpriced, and you're spending hundreds of extra dollars for the brand and the pretty lights.

Hey, man. The lights are totally worth it.

But that Windows 8 though. Find me something with Windows 7.

I just did you a huge favor and you're saying 'go do it again but do it with this?' Are you kidding? It's $600.

Edited by Uncle Putin: 6/21/2014 5:39:37 AMMy dad has Windows 8 on his computer and he says it's absolutely horrendous. I know Windows 7 very well so I'd rather just stick with that than risk hating Windows 8. No, I appreciate what you're doing. I don't want Windows 8, that's my choice. If you could find me something with the same specs and Windows 7, that would be fantastic. Also, your computer has DDR3 RAM. The faster the RAM the better because I do lots of intensive media processing.
My dad has Windows 8 on his computer and he says it's absolutely horrendous.
It used to be. They fixed it.
I know Windows 7 very well so I'd rather just stick with that than risk hating Windows 8.
The picture above is my desktop. I'm trying to save you $600... tell me what in there you have a risk of hating so much that it is worth $600. Can you point out any differences from your current desktop, aside from obviously the background and programs chosen?
-
I suppose you're right. I'll have to keep this one in my bookmarks. I'll also have to add that price is not that much of a factor to me because I've been making lots of money and spending none of it. But it's still something for me to consider.

Nice background. Very pretty.

Or you could buy Windows 7 separately and get it loaded onto your laptop, it would still be cheaper.

Yes, good point.
