I can weigh in on a couple of these. Hip fire felt pretty weak for a Bungie game. I found myself getting frustrated and switching to ads even at close range. Strafing was decent in both hip fire and ads, but not great. Melee abilities are used whenever you melee and the cool down bar is full. The exception is the hunter's throwing knife, which seems to detect when you are in melee range and only goes off when appropriate. It was definitely fun.

 • Thanks for the info man. Bummer about Hipfire, that was one of the things about Halo I really liked. Glad you liked it. I can't wait for that beta.

 •
Bummer about Hip-fire, that was one of the things about Halo I really liked.
yes hip fire does leave something to be desired, I hope they at least add upgrade points to increase its effectiveness. Just keep in mind that guardians are still human and no human can hip-fire a sniper, or any gun for that matter, accurately at a good distances.

 • There's still time for them to improve it. Others may have a different opinion.
