hope y'all know the real reason we celebrate today
No, it is about buying candy and painted eggs. No one ever rose from the dead, that's just insane. We buy candy and paint eggs because it stimulates the markets.

I hate it when I mute people and they magically get unmuted.

I. Do. Not. Even. Know. This. Kid. Who are you?
-
Wow, you are a real piece of work.

This is the most cynical thing I've ever read. You probably need a break from these forums.

No, there are problems in the world. It's just when you let them bring you down and have to push them onto others that you've become cynical. It's been largely transformed into a consumerist holiday, but you have to be the debby-downer that points it out. It's the difference between being a normal person and an asshole.
-
I'm an asshole for pointing out problems or you're uncomfortable with my opinions?
-
You're an asshole for calling out our problem to someone wishing you a good day.
-
All I'm doing is saying that no human being ever rose from the dead, which should be obvious enough that no one should get offended over it. And if you really think something like that could happen, religious or not, you're an idiot.
-
I don't believe it happened, but I don't feel the need to announce it when other people do.
-
Well I do because I have serious concerns when it comes to lack of proper education, especially when it comes to scientific literacy. It makes this country look no better than a third world country. Saying it's okay just because it's tradition is dangerous thinking.
-
You're an asshole for calling out our problem to someone wishing you a good day.
Which of course assumes it is a problem. Our cynical hero above would assume that it is, neglecting that it helps keep people employed and remains a source of joy for a lot of families, even those that are not very religious. How nauseating.
-
neglecting that it helps keep people employed and remains a source of joy for a lot of families
That's assuming too much. First assumption: That I ever claimed that the holiday had a positive or negative affect on people. Second assumption: That we need religion in order to have joy. Third assumption: That if we didn't celebrate (specifically) religious holidays, then our economy would be weaker.

Captain Cynicism to the rescue

So then you must agree that there are no problems in the world, correct? Because if you recognized that there were, then that be would cynical and therefore wrong according to your logic.
-
Note how Captain Cynicism becomes hostile when provoked. Watch as he is provoked again..
-
And confirmed, you are here to shitpost and make unfunny jokes. Or am I not supposed to reply because that would mean I'm "provoked?" Yeah, sorry bud, but I don't hang as low as you do.
-
I do find him quite funny.
-
Observe as the latter provocation produces a response nearly equally as disdainful as the former..
-
I'm Christian, who rose from the dead?
-
Jesus

Nice try, but just because you disagree with me and feel offended over it doesn't mean I'm baiting.

You are easily the worst poster on this site.
gr8 b8 m8
