Got it yesterday. Pretty good! My only question is why they are mixing Halo 3 and Halo 4 designs, the banshees for example. Any ideas Onyx?

The Halo 3 and 4 Banshees is because they're used by different branches of the Covenant military. Bungie suggested the different design in Reach was because that one is used by the Covenant equivocate of the Army. In post war era where the majority of the Covenant manufacturing power is gone, they're willing to use a conglomerate of models. As for the armor. The armor in Halo 3 is actually unique in the fact that it's ancient Sanghelios design. The Elite Separatists switched to this armor to further cement the fact they aren't apart of the Covenant and are once again sovereign.

Will we see these designs in future games? Also, why would they retcon chiefs armor and not this?
-
Maybe. Also I don't understand what you mean about the retcons.
-
They acknowledge the older Halo designs in this comic, but in the opening cinematic to Halo 4 Chief is wearing his new armor in the flashbacks, before Halo CE at that.
-
That's the issue with pre-rendered cinematics done on a game being rushed. You can tell the company that made them didn't always use finalized designs. For whatever reason, attention to detail in regards to the cinematics weren't a necessity.
-
I can see where that comes from, especially with 343 outsourcing production to other companies. Let us hope that the bulk of the work on Halo "5" comes from 343 employees themselves.
-
You can't really not outsource cutscenes if you decide they're going to be prerendered.
-
Well I guess, but that goes to show that cutscenes should be in-game like every other Halo game. I have no idea why they didn't do all of the cutscenes in-game for Halo 4.
-
I dunno either, but I actually loved the pre-rendered cutscenes. You can't do John's face justice unless it's in uber high quality.
