What did I tell you forthenco? They even managed to butcher the arbiters appearance.

New armor=butchered?
-
He has golden pimp armor with a fcking loincloth. Come on.
-
It's ceremonial armor, it's supposed to be gaudy. It's basically the clothes of a King. Sounds to me like you were gonna hate it regardless. Unless it looked exactly like the Arbiter armor.
-
That's exactly the problem. They're portraying the arbiter as a king.
-
The Arbiter is a king. Sangheilios is just a bunch of feudal kingdoms or states with a Kaidon who rules them. Right now, the Arbiter is the Kaidon of the state of Vadam.
-
This just gets worse and worse doesn't it? In what why is making arby look like a pimp king a good thing? Is your head permanently stuck in your ass or are you an employee of 343?

Edited by Lord of Admirals: 12/12/2013 6:47:52 PMPimp king? What? Golden armor has always denoted leadership in Sangheili society and it was Bungie themselves who made Thel a Kaidon. Cloaks are also a big part of Sangheili society thanks to Bungie as well.

Roflmao, answer my question.
-
No it doesn't get worse. At least for me. For you it will always get worse. That much is obvious. It is a good thing as it is more canonically correct. The Arbiter used to be the most prestigious position an Elite could have. And the Prophets decided to not change the armor from when it was a good thing despite its contemporary negative meanings. And for the final question, neither.
-
Actually i think it's the latter.
-
It doesn't matter what you think, I don't work for 343i nor do I have my head up their arse. If you're going to say that, then you're being slanderous.

Lie all you want.

Lie to yourself all you want.
They're portraying the arbiter as a king.
A Kaidon is, in essence, the king of the clan they rule. They have absolute authority over their clan members, including the Elders who elect them. Thel's armour in Escalation is clearly reminiscent of the Kaidon armour from Halo Wars: Genesis because that's what Thel goes back to being after the war.
-
Why not? He's uniting the galaxy under peace, not war, and is a symbol of hope to many, as the caption blurb says. Visually it makes sense to portray him as a King or grand hero, to say nothing of the monumental power he holds canonically. He's a Kaidon, a very powerful and respected one at that. Kaidons are, effectively, a kind of Sangheilian royalty. It's not surprising their ceremonial armor will be king-like.
-
I'm sorry you don't like it. =( I actually like it more than the original.

I don't understand how it's funny that I have a different opinion than you.
