A few quick questions tho: Why does the Arbiter suddenly wear this armour? Like is it special at all? I understand he will have wanted to get rid of the "arbiter armour" to distance himself from the prophets, but is this amrour special at all? Also why are the brutes being friendly and why are they making peace with them? it seems strange that while the brutes were known to just be ferocious and attack most things, with a deep hatred for elites that they suddenly seem at least ok with the idea of peace. Did something happen?

 • No one knows for sure yet about his armor. A lot of people say it's a new set of armor, but I think it's retconned Arbiter armor. As for the Brutes, they may be savage, but they're not idiots. The Brutes who made landfall on Harvest attempted to reach an agreement through negotiations. Lydus doesn't have control over all the Brutes yet. They chose to negotiate with him because he's the only Elder Chieftain who isn't prone to violence and willing to make agreements.

 • What gives you the impression its retconned? I could understand if it retained some of the basic elements, but there isn't a single thing about it that looks like the Arbiter armor. I somehow doubt the position of shame the Arbiter held would be given armor to make him look like a God. Especially not a cape.

 •
but there isn't a single thing about it that looks like the Arbiter armor.
What? Dude, look at the shoulder guard, arm, legs, chest, and neck armor, it's the exact same.
I somehow doubt the position of shame the Arbiter held would be given armor to make him look like a God. Especially not a cape.
Yeah, but guess what, the Arbiter wasn't always a position of shame. It was actually one of the highest prestige's you could be given until Fal defied the Prophets. But for whatever reason, the Prophets decided to create the illusion the Arbiter armor is passed down to the next. Meaning that the armor has not changed from the time of when it was honorable to wear it. I don't see him looking like a god either, the problem with the first picture is that the 'crest' is not actually a crest. But the artist wanted to show off as many elements of the Arbiter's armor as possible. Next time I reply I'll show you how that 'crest' actually is.

 • Eh, still don't see it. It's one thing to change the shape of the design, while retaining the basic look, the fundamentals, like what they did to Chief. But to add entirely new elements, change the fundamentals and keep only the most minute details? Especially adding elements as extreme as a cape and horns and elaborate head dress. Why not change the ascetics too, or the Brutes? why change the Arbiter, and that extremely at that? It's just way too different for me to accept it as a retcon just yet. Now if it's a mix of ceremonial armor and Arbiter armor, custom for Thel, I can see that. It seems reasonable to think he would retain the arm armor as a reminder of his humble past. But as a complete retcon? It's way too extreme for me.

 • The armor is ceremonial as far as I know, not combat armor. Possibly denoting an esteemed Kaidon or, and this is a stretch, the commander in chief of the planet, if such a thing exists. Most likely it's Kaidon armor. And not all Brutes are savages. Simple as that really. Lydus has been raiding Sangheilian technology for awhile, guess he figures it'll be best for everyone if they cooperated.
