You know. It pisses me off moreso when people try to decide what is appropriate to call someone. Why not ask that person?
English

Exactly, just ask for their name.

Then let it be up to their personal preference after asking them, no one said that wasn't allowed, and I certainly didn't intend to imply it.

Not so much to you. I'm part of the LGBT group on my campus, and we do introductions before every meeting. It involves us saying our Gender Pronouns (He/His/Him, She/Her/Hers). He always makes it a point to say "Don't say that you don't care, don't say that people can call you it, or anything." It pisses me off.

It's for transgendered folk in the group when it's their turn. He doesn't want them to say "Oh, you can call me anything (As in He/She), or "Oh, you can call me it if you really want." Even if they're serious and they don't care what you use. He won't allow it.
-
Oh, now I get it. Only a Sith deals in absolutes. You know what must be done.
-
Ah, I can understand how that would rile someone up.
